Far too easily (i.e., recently ) I’ll get caught in the ‘busy’ and won’t take time to realise the power in accepting that life is a series of nows; we don’t live for the future or for the past but we live in the present - so why worry incessantly? 16.01.2022 This afternoon, in between editing weddings and drinking too many cups of green tea, I was mulling over an article on the *top five biggest regrets before people died*. The number one regret? I wish I’d have the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. A challenge to you (& myself) this evening: Consider how we're living our everyday lives: am I governed by fear of what others think? What choices am I making in my everyday work and life tha...t show this? How can I live a life more aligned with God's values, and what He wants for my life? Considering this a lot at the moment as I'm doing business & life planning, and it has really hit home; it's far too easy to live the way others would expect or appreciate me to. 01.01.2022 Little lessons from today. Paradoxes are strangely and beautifully beneficial for the soul and mind. (Run until your breath shakes, then slow and steady your rhythm. In darkness, it's easiest to notice light. Emptiness provides the capacity to be filled.) When your soul's rhythm is stretched, solitude can be a friend, too. ... How well we live in stillness corresponds with our becoming stillness. Thoughts do well when they are eventually drained and flushed out of the mind, and journalling and forms of creative expression do this beautifully. My mind has been a bit scattered & I'm trying to let these conditions settle, but I'm falling in love with this job of mine all over again and learning what surrender looks like in the process acaciarachel.com
