20.01.2022 Tip for the day - sort clothing for the dryer too! If all the washing machines have completed the cycle, lighter clothing and sheets can be dried together and heavier items such as jeans and/or towels, depending on how many, can be dried together. The lighter clothing will dry faster than the heavier ones and spare change and energy can be saved by doing this.

Many of us use way too much detergent in our laundry, and while you could make your own at a fraction of the price, the easiest way to save money is to just use less. You know how much soap the manufacturer recommends using? Use less than that. A lot less. Your clothes will be just as clean and youll save lots of money.

17.01.2022 As major cities institute mandatory shutdowns and social distancing efforts to prevent spread of the novel coronavirus, people are wondering how to go about ordinary life activities like washing clothes. We want to assure you that our top priority is the health and safety of our community, customers and staff. To this end our cleaning staff have implemented extra measures in our stores to ensure the safety of our customers during these times. ... All surfaces and handles etc are being cleaned with a commercial grade alcohol based sanitiser every day. We recommend you wash all laundry at the highest temperature compatible for the fabric using laundry detergent. Our hot water is heated to 60 deg C. If possible tumble dry and iron using the highest setting compatible with the fabric. Please continue to practice the hygiene and social distancing measures as outlined by the relevant Health Authorities. Any customers who were concerned about catching the virus could wait in their cars while doing laundry to reduce exposure to others and take their laundry home before folding it. This store will be still open 24 hours a day, so there is opportunity to come during less busy times also. Thank you for your continued custom, stay safe.

14.01.2022 Make your trip to the Laundromat easier - Always check the machine before you load in your clothes and remove any items that the person before you left behind. An extra sock isnt a big deal, but a rogue tube of lipstick or pair of greasy overalls could cause a problem!

13.01.2022 Our stores remain open during these challenging times and we ask that you exercise social distancing practices, such as waiting in your car while your laundry is being done and generally observing the 1.5m distancing from each other at all times. Authorities advise that we should wash our clothes in hot water even more regularly than we normally would and then tumble dry to kill the Covid19 virus. Our hot water is heated to 60 degrees and the gas dryers reach approximately 85 degrees which is sufficient to eliminate the virus within a few minutes. Thank you for your help and stay safe.

08.01.2022 Todays laundry tip - dont crowd the washing machine! Modern washing machines are bigger than ever and its tempting to cram in "just one more" thing but even large-capacity machines have their limits. Stuffing a washer to the brim may seem like it will save money but when its too full, water and detergent wont reach everything, dirt gets trapped, and clothing doesnt get clean and may even get damaged.

"Detergents and hot dryers are good for killing pathogens. Thats why hospital laundries are effective in cleaning bedding, etc.,"Miryam ...Wahrman, a biology professor at William Paterson University and the author of "The Hand Book: Surviving in a Germ-Filled World" . With detergent, the virus would be killed very quickly, and with a dryer, the heat would kill it. While some people may wait to do their laundry until theyre faced with big piles of it, it is recommended regularly washing your clothes, especially if you are still required to report to work or have been in crowded areas. Along with frequent hand washing, the (Center for Disease Control) said make frequent laundering a routine Bleach and other disinfectants will kill the virus, so will soap on your clothes as well as on your person, which is why experts have continually emphasized the importance of frequent hand-washing to prevent infection. 03.01.2022 Sorting you laundry will give better results! Sort your washable laundry by color. Whites, pastels, light gray and white background prints will go in one pile. Deep colored clothes black, red, navy, brown, dark gray go in another pile. Then -... Sort each pile one more time by type of fabric. For instance, in the white/light colored pile separate towels and sheets from apparel. In the dark colors, separate t-shirts and jeans from lighter weight items like blouses and dress shirts. If you have dark towels or blankets, separate them from clothes to reduce lint, never wash lint producing fabrics and lint attracting fabrics together! Washing by color and fabric type allows you to use the correct water temperatures and keeps drying cycles simple.
