25.01.2022 Finding the Right Coach: Finding the right coach is never easy. A great coach should teach game skills and life skills. Choosing a coach based on the successes ...of other athletes in the program is a common mistake. Be careful to choose the right coach for you! Have a look into their culture, values, and principles. Find out the philosophies emphasized in the program. Do they include personal development, skilled instruction, and decision-making? Does the program nurture a love of the game? Do they have high standards? Does the coach use a command-style approach or guided-discovery? Does the coach have a culture that promotes a healthy learning environment? Most importantly, does the coach educate beyond the game, teaching life skills in addition to sport skills? When choosing a coach, remember you aren't only buying into their knowledge of the game, but into their mindset and their beliefs too. Choose carefully! Communication between you and your coach is vital. You have to be able to be honest with each other, to ask questions, and to be comfortable discussing everything from goals, to health, to training schedules and more. Don't choose the best coach. Choose the RIGHT coach. One that cares about you. From the book Champion Minded: Achieving Excellence in Sports and Life https://www.amazon.com//069279154X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_SR

25.01.2022 What kind of VALUES are we teaching our children? Athlete Abel Mutai representing Kenya, was just a few feet from the finish line, but he was confused with the... signage & stopped thinking he had completed the race. The Spanish athlete, Ivan Fernandez was right behind him & realizing what was happening, he started shouting at the Kenyan for him to continue running; but Mutai didn't know Spanish didn't understand. Then the Spanish pushed him to victory. A journalist asked Ivan, "Why did you do that?" Ivan replied, "My dream is that someday we can have a kind of community life". The journalist insisted "But why did you let the Kenyan win?" Ivan replied, "I didn't let him win, he was going to win". The journalist insisted again, "But you could have won!" Ivan looked at him & replied, "But what would be the merit of my victory? What would be the honour of that medal? What would my Mom think of that?" Values are transmitted from generation to generation. What values are we teaching our children? Let us not teach our kids the wrong ways & means to WIN #ChampionMinded

21.01.2022 AR Juniors are in today's local paper.

20.01.2022 The health and wellbeing of our program deliverers and participants is of paramount importance to us at Squash Australia, so we have decided to postpone all Squ...ash Girls Can programs for the foreseeable future. We understand this is a testing time for everyone, and we too hope things can start to go back to normal sooner rather than later. Please know that we will be monitoring the situation as it progresses, and advise at a later date if we can resume the program without risking the health of our community. Please take care and look out for one another.

04.01.2022 Dear Q Squash Centres and Regions, We hope that everyone is keeping well. Just a quick update on where we are with resumption of squash post COVID-19 closures. ...Unfortunately we have been unsuccessful in our proposal to open centres in a limited fashion this coming weekend. This is because no indoor personal training or sport centre has been allowed to open until June 12th. June 12th 2020 is the day when squash centres will be able to open with required restrictions and measures. We are currently reviewing reopening measures and requirements, and we will get these to you next week. These requirements will be very important to observe as we reopen and move forward with post COVID-19 squash. Kind regards, Colette Sultana Q Squash LTD
