13.01.2022 I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. Mine was quiet but nice nonetheless... Anyway, as boring as this sounds I have been spending much of the holiday break working on my PhD(I). I have read countless articles on how to best promote student engagement by utilising social media. Several academics around the world have started incorporating social media into their tertiary teaching with varying degrees of success. This is generally as a reaction to a perceive...d decrease in student engagement. The more I read, the more I realise how careful and cautious one needs to be when embracing social media use into one's courses... but I still think it can be done successfully....well at least I hope so!?! In other news- I am currently enjoying listening to some 'Gunners' to keep me motivated with my writing.... I am trying to resist turning to Netflix or perhaps New Idea to give me some relief... wish me luck!!

06.01.2022 I must be honest....I am reluctant to be completely transparent when engaging with others on social media platforms. When reading cases such as Brose v Baluskas & Ors I am reminded why I have this cautious approach. 06.01.2022 I am starting to get super excited about participating in this session tonight!! I will talk about the importance of creating a digital profile and then discuss some of the legal issues that students need to think about when communicating online. The main point I am going to try and make is - you can't just say whatever you like on social media!!! Wish me luck!?!

05.01.2022 I had a wonderful time talking about creating a digital profile at last night’s Careers Connect event. I spoke about some of the legal issues relating to social media use and provided some tips on building a professional profile. The other presenters were outstanding- even though it is hard to kind a highlight Skye Saunders’ picture of her in a ball gown and boots was pretty hard to top!!! I also realised Skye and I share the same love for Titanic the movie- can’t get enough of Kate and Leo!!!
