24.01.2022 Over the past fortnight I got in the groove in making three closed terrariums each with unique characteristics and design which encompass a little paradise in a glass jar or container. This one I call little Yamadera inspired by my fiance and I going to Japan and climbing the rocky mountain landscape that had amazing architecture of temples, statues of Buddha's and lots of moss on rocks and the mountains itself. You can say I got inspired by the design of Japan which is the ...essence of wabi sabi and their acceptance of nature in settings of natural growth and decay. There's more to come and can't wait to post the next one for you guys where I think I can say is my most inspired one from Japan and just my love for nature and it's settings. STAY TUNED!! The most distinctive part is the red flower looking succulent which always gets my attention when I look at her. 20.01.2022 I remember when I first planted them that I was just excited of the fact in one day seeing them bloom. 9 months later in the months between late March to mid April (autumn) this started to happen where the 'tiger jaws' succulent not only grow but have bloomed with amazing flowers which at day they open and close to dusk they close, such amazing behavior coming from a succulent and still amazes me everytime I go out to see them. This picture was taken in my garden where I hav...e an array of succulents which I enjoy the very essence and natural wonders of their existence. I'll post a picture later of one of my other favorite other than the tiger jaws later, the Kalanchoe Serrata aka Mantis (yes I name this one especially). 12.01.2022 I don't usually like to place figurines in a terrarium but this was an exception and as long as the scale of the landscape and forest is relative to the size of the figurines I'm happy with that for it still captivates the imagination as if I were there . 09.01.2022 Yesterday we (maleiko the Jack Russell) ended up doing some digging out the back and after 3 hours of digging and hauling dirt we have finally place the scoria rocks and premium soil on top to get ready for the baby succulents and leaf cuttings to begin the propagating process. I'm trialling this out and taking it as it comes. I'm really to begin enjoying gardening now . Later I'll do veggies but not right now, I love the succulents for they all express a different personal...ity. 06.01.2022 We arrived back in Melbourne yesterday and we couldn't wait to see what our pottery and souvenirs would look like as ornaments. All these are from Japan and the pottery is inspired from the Tokogame region as well as Okayama (origin of Bizen ware) and Yamadera (teapot and resembling cups) where they had and still have a unique way as to how pottery is made. Also I ended up getting Daruma dolls (good luck dolls, check out its origin it'd pretty interesting). These inspire us... to be better than we are and to accept natures way of expression for it's the spirit of the creator and nature combined to create art and aesthetics like no other. This is Zen, this is art, this is wabi sabi. Thank you Japan for inspiring us and we will carry on through wabi sabi in what we do and express ourselves to have others who appreciate nature and art to do the same. 06.01.2022 Tonight I ended up going to a terrarium workshop where I got to meet am amazing instructor and the others and got to meet like minded people in the workshop which was awesome . The workshop was great with smiles, laughs and just lots of fun to be a part of . I highly recommend anyone who wants to learn in a chilled but educational environment for you won't only get inspired but also just feel proud of seeing your creation come to life (it's alive but you'll feel you got... yourself something worth taking care for ).
