22.01.2022 Free workshop event, assisting individuals and businesses with implementing the new Victorian Child Safe Standards, introduced in January 2017
21.01.2022 Dear friends of ACAPTA, At a Special General Meeting on April 1, a resolution was made to wind up ACAPTA's operations by end of June, 2017. As per the Board’s recommendation it has been agreed that services be transferred to Theatre Network Australia. The transition will be managed over the next couple of months to ensure as little disruption as possible. While there is always sadness in closing an organisation, the Board and I are optimistic about the future of Circus and P...hysical Theatre in Australia, and I am convinced that TNA will be able to properly champion our sector both in advocacy to Governments - Federal, State and Local - and by continuing to manage and develop the services that we have initiated. I also recommend that you look at the new online forum https://www.circus.net.au/, an interesting initiative offering a platform for communication and connection. I am confident that Australian circus will continue to thrive and to challenge audiences about what they consider possible both on a local and global level, by demonstrating excellent skill, and showcasing awe inspiring artistry. Best regards - Anni Davey, ACAPTA Chair
19.01.2022 As part of the transition of services, Theatre Network Australia will include a dedicated Circus and Physical Theatre (CaPT) section in their monthly newsletter; and a dedicated quarterly newsletter to the CaPT sector. To stay in the loop, like their FB page, and head over to their website to sign up to the mailing list! http://www.tna.org.au/

15.01.2022 Touring Family Circus breakout - Discussion Points: (Conversation was already in session when I joined) Breaking barriers between city and country. Have seen a ...large improvement in animal handling, over last 25 years. Is Ecotourism as a better way to show animals? Is 'city circus' elitist/seen as elitist? Being supportive in people doing what they want. Council bans have taken away choice. See more

05.01.2022 Help me update the knowledge about circus injuries (or lack of injuries!). Please take this short survey. And, check out data from my 2013 survey http://www.thecircusdoc.com/blog/circus-injury-survey
04.01.2022 Aon would like to thank all those who participated and shared their insights about how the circus industry can keep thriving in the future at the ‘Circus Collective Visioning Forum’. One important way to help ensure the future of your performing career or that of your circus school is to have your risks fully insured. ACAPTA have approved our tailored and affordable cover options for their members, plus, for our offline policies sold, we’ll donate a portion back to them, so you’ll be supporting their ongoing work too. 04.01.2022 Gender break out session. Discussion Points: Getting harder for girls. Concern about self-harm. What would it look like for women to make the work they wanted t...o make, rather than emulate/replicate men? Some women describe privileged personal experience of no roadblocks, good support. Woman with skilled bodies getting reduced to bikinis while men do the hard things. Australia has powerful women performers. 'Tyrrany of inclusion' See more
