21.01.2022 Learning to swim is a vital life skill all children should acquire. ACA Qld Patron Laurie Lawrence and our friends at Kids Alive have created a new online program to help parents further their children’s skills. It was so popular in January it is back for a repeat in February! The Swim Support Sessions will happen every Friday in February at 2pm, hosted online Live in the Kids Alive Facebook Kids Alive do the Five. They are designed to provide you with extra knowledge on h...ow to help make your child as comfortable and confident in the water as possible. They do not replace formal lessons but in the peak of Summer the more familiar children are with water, the safer they will be. Check the schedule to find the right fit for your family and mark it in the diary. #kidsalive #watersafety #swimminglessonssavelives #drowningprevention #swimsupportsession

16.01.2022 Last Monday 16 October we celebrated our amazing Supporter Members at our annual Supporters' Evening for 2020 We would like to thank all those who were able to join us in recognition of all the support we have received this year. We are incredibly grateful for the support our Supporter Members, in particular our foundation member, The Guild Group have given us and continue to provide us as we transition into 2021. For those of you who were unable to attend the Supporter's E...vening and the ACA Qld Virtual Members' Meeting last Tuesday, we would like to advise you that Brent has made the difficult decision to depart ACA Qld and CAECE as your CEO at the end of the year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Brent for everything that he has achieved for our members and the sector during the past four years, his dedication and hard work do not go unnoticed. Creating an exciting opportunity, we are pleased to advise we have recruited a strong replacement in Kate Tully. Kate is a seasoned leader with significant experience in strategic thinking and organisational growth, particularly in the non-profit/social sector. Kate brings to ACA Qld her strong record in leading member-based organisations, sector advocacy, coupled with her passion for high quality early education and care experiences. Kate will officially commence her role on Monday 30 November, enjoying a three week handover with Brent. Please join us in welcoming Kate to the ACA Qld team!

16.01.2022 In as little as 5 minutes, the temperature in a vehicle can reach dangerous levels. Leaving children unattended in a vehicle can result in serious injury or death and it only takes one shortcut on safety to have devastating, lifelong consequences. We encourage all families and early learning (childcare) services to create a 'Look Before You Lock' routine to help lower the risk of unintentionally leaving a child in a vehicle. From 1 October 2020, all early childhood education and care services that transport children must have a specific written transport policy and procedure in place following recent changes to the National Regulations. Visit the Queensland Government website for more information ibit.ly/wvyI.
