20.01.2022 catch 2nd yrs 'A Doll's House' before you miss these moments!

08.01.2022 In term 2 our 2nd years worked on their director-led devised movement production named ‘GRØWL’. The students learnt from their director, Jenn Havelberg, about her strategy for creating movement pieces. The students based their work around topics that are important to them and drew upon their emotions and desires to devise the productions physicality. All were given the opportunity to explore their own scene concepts with their colleagues and some students had their poetry inc...luded in the performance that was read live by their colleagues. The 2nd years were educated on the basics of sound and lighting tech by Kobe Donaldson and learnt how to tech their show. All were taught about the lights used, how to set up the lighting rig, hard and soft patching and how to operate the computers backstage. The students ran the show’s tech with Kobe’s assistance and learnt valuable lessons about the work that occurs backstage that they will use in their future careers. Unfortunately, due to the outbreak of Covid-19, ‘GRØWL’ was unable to be performed to an audience but the students continued to enjoy the process of creating and fine tuning their work and were pleased with the outcome. The 2nd years enjoyed the challenge and appreciated making work that was a personal reflection. We hope that you enjoy these images of the production and pre production. Stay tuned for how to view the student edited filmed version of ‘GRØWL’.
