25.01.2022 The horses have fetlock deep grass in the paddock they are currently grazing, but of course the grass on the other side of the fence would be better. lol
25.01.2022 I would like to let you all know that we have been hacked. Our Ads Manager has been taken over. We have reported it to Facebook and also to Paypal as significant money has been spent in our name. If you see any weird adverts coming up under our name please either ignore or screen shot and send to us. I hope this has not inconvenienced you in any way. Thanks... Christine See more
24.01.2022 Last time grazing the hay paddock. The horses will leave this paddock on 31st August and it will be locked up to grow next year's hay. Once the rain stops we will do our final rake and spray, then we sit back and watch it grow
23.01.2022 ACATT Day care facility for the elderly :D :D I quite like the shine appearing on the little man's coat and the filling of his shoulder and hindquarter underneath that shine :D

23.01.2022 Little Camelot is looking great compared to 6 months ago when he needed padding in his rugs to protect the skin over protruding bones. When Camelot came here his faeces were basically slop, if he was fed chaff it came out virtually unchanged in his faeces. We formulated a natural balanced diet and provided 4 - 5 feeds a day to cover his full nutritional requirements. We ground all feeds including his chaff to assist digestion as little man has few teeth to do so himself. O...ver time his faeces became healthy balls, his weight improved in leaps and bounds and padding was no longer required in the rug. A month ago we stopped grinding his chaff, his faeces remained the same and weight continued to increase. We have now altered his feed, reduced the energy level, to maintain, rather than add to his condition. It is such a delight to see that his gut health has improved, digestion enhanced and at 33, possibly 34 years of age his is content and well See more

20.01.2022 Fire prep has begun in the hay paddock. Fallen branches removed, grass slashed along fence lines and around trees. A bonus is it gives the dogs and I a clear path to walk around. #hay #propertymaintenance #paddocklife #fireprotection #acattequinenutrition #acatt_equine_therapy
19.01.2022 COVID 19 has brought a positive change to what we are offering you :)
19.01.2022 It is such a delight to see the horses move to being maintained virtually on pasture alone. They began ignoring hay a few weeks ago, from now on, the oldies will get buckets, the others a daily handfed lolly of linseed, sunflower seeds soy bean and a sprinkle of pollard to bind it into a ball. Great pasture management saves a fortune in horse feeding

17.01.2022 A good day all round, Stubby ate all overnight meals, breakfast and half of his lunch, grazed with Cascade in and out of his yard, and only had to deal with one episode of grumpy face. He was introduced to Lunar and Sol and Lunar is now lying near him as he grazes.

14.01.2022 Today was paddock move day. Paddock rotation here happens on a strict schedule, we have 3 paddocks for the horses. 2 paddocks are 2 - 3 acres in size, while the 3rd is 6+ acres. The horses spend 6 - 7 days in the smaller paddocks and 10 - 14 days in the larger paddock. The large paddock will be locked up for hay on 1st September. Given it is next in our rotation, the horses will only spend a week there, and from that time on rotate between the other paddocks while the hay grows. Our pasture growth over Spring and into summer will sustain the horses and only the oldies will continue to the hard fed. Spring I love it! :D

10.01.2022 Our time of taking this boy from skin and bone to well covered is done. Today we escorted him back to his owner a happy, alert and interested fellow
07.01.2022 From the day Camelot arrived I have been waiting to see a poo without undigested feed in it, without slop, nor accompanying fluid, formed and falling apart as it hits the ground. Today every pile I have seen has been balls at some level without any undigested feed obvious. A horse's faeces are a great indicator of digestive health, this change let's me know we are on the right track with his diet. Now let's watch Camelot's condition go from improved to fantastic
06.01.2022 A beautiful article written by Eliza Henry-Jones and published in the Yarra Valley and Ranges Magazine about Christine & ACATT. http://www.acatt.net/Eliza-Article-Yarra-Valley.pdf

06.01.2022 This morning little Stubby met the wonderful Cascade, and decided that he could stay. This afternoon Cascade did a great job successfully encouraging Stubbie to eat, which was fabulous!! I hope tomorrow this continues, and more food is ingested by the little one
05.01.2022 Great information about feeding horses and maintaining a healthy digestive system. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVQvgVW08UQ
05.01.2022 It is the 1st of August and over the past couple of weeks our horses have reduced the amount of hay they are needing. This weekend they have not wanted any, the spring growth has begun :D It is looking like we may have 100 bales of excess hay in our shed from last years cut. :D :D We will lock this paddock up on the 1st September to grow next seasons hay. Hopefully we will have another great yield :D
04.01.2022 Today I received a gift of horse feed and a message of appreciation from Emma, Stubbie's last carer. Emma and Teagan were here today to trim Stubbie's toes, and she posted these comparison photos of the day he arrived and of today. Her gift, words and photos have really made my heart smile. Due to the great basis given to him by Emma and Teagan, Stubbie has gained weight quickly here, it is a joy to watch :D Thanks Emma and Teagan for your work, support and appreciation :D
04.01.2022 Do you want to learn how to massage your horse? Learn some fantastic techniques to make your horse feel happy, and have freedom of movement. With Covid-19 taken into consideration, we will be working outside with plenty of space to comply with current regulations.
03.01.2022 Our next feeding project, I am looking forward to spoiling this little one <3
02.01.2022 I love hay growing season!! The horses have been off this paddock since the last week of August, so nearly 4 weeks growth
02.01.2022 Hmmm we have fed sunflower seeds for years and never had a crop of sunflowers appear in the paddock. Pretty but not correct! This was Cactus's paddock, he is the only horse to use this paddock since January. These plants and the seeds/grain found in his faeces, when ACATT staff cleaned his paddock, are a good indication the dear fellow would benefit from a dental visit.
01.01.2022 9th day at ACATT, and the little one has already put on a little weight
