23.01.2022 Our staff support Jersey Day!! JERSEY DAY is all about promoting awareness of The Organ and Tissue Authority and the DONATE LIFE network. Each JERSEY DAY we ask schools and workplaces across Australia to allow students and employees to wear their favourite sporting jersey to school or work to show their support for the DONATE LIFE network and begin the conversation with their friends and families about organ donation. https://www.jerseyday.com.au/

18.01.2022 New housing for vulnerable Cairns residents A new social housing complex has been built to help some of Cairns' most vulnerable residents; victims of domestic violence. The apartments aim to reduce the growing waiting list in the Far North, that's nearly doubled in the past six years.

I come to Access Housing with a background in support work and case management and have been employed as the Healthy Housing Coach. This is a brand new position with a focus on health and housing. 01.01.2022 TRAINEESHIPS !!!!! TRAINEESHIPS !!!!! TRAINEESHIPS !!!!! DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING & PUBLIC WORKS Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traineeships are an opportunity for First Nations Queenslanders under 25 to earn and learn with the Department of Housing and Public Works. Trainees receive: paid work at a real job... a nationally recognised qualification hands-on learning training mentoring. The traineeship program received $2 million in additional funding under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Action Plan 2019-2023 in 2019. The initiative will employ 64 trainees to 2023. The traineeship program is delivered by a registered Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander training provider. Benefits The traineeship program aims to create work opportunities for First Nations peoples between 16 and 25 years of age. It will: build careers in industries where workers are needed enrich learning and professional development opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in urban and regional areas create jobs across the state. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees benefit through: a generous salary and superannuation paid holiday and sick leave fee-free training flexible working arrangements for study, sporting, community and family commitments lifelong skills and professional learning a safe and supportive working environment. Work and study arrangements Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees work fulltime and/or part-time. Trainees work toward a qualification in either: business administration community services information, digital media and technology social housing. Students in years 10, 11 and 12 can work part-time around school hours and count their certificate toward a Queensland Certificate of Education. Apply Aboriginal peoples and Torres Strait Islander peoples between 16 and 25 years can apply online. Successful applicants will be placed in a job that matches: their preferred location and area of study business need at the time of application. Please distribute throughout your networks.
