23.01.2022 Acclaim joins the opera world in mourning the sudden loss of our friend and colleague Luca Targetti from Coronavirus. Itay’s Il Messaggero reported today that former cast manager of La Scala and then agent of important artists, died today. Coronavirus positive, he was 62 years old and had recently been hospitalized. It is "with dismay" that "the superintendent Dominique Meyer, the musical director Riccardo Chailly, all the artists and workers of the Teatro alla Scala togethe...r with the Management and staff of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala learned" the news "of the sudden disappearance by Luca Targetti after a short illness. Luca Targetti - the theatre recalled on social networks - was responsible for the singing companies of the Teatro alla Scala for thirteen years starting in 1997 and then responsible for the international relations of the Academy before successfully returning to the activity of agent with whom he had started his career. His competence and sensitivity, diplomacy and a sense of humor, his always clear fairness and generosity have made him a point of reference for artistic directions, famous artists and young talents that he accompanied in the first steps of his career, but also for all those who, working in the theatre, have appreciated his professionalism and his joy together. Superintendent Dominique Meyer remembered him as "a friend for more than twenty years. We saw each other regularly when we participated in the juries of singing competitions and each time we kept talking for a long time: Luca always knew how to combine seriousness and fun. His disappearance is an important loss for the world of opera, but today we think first of all about the pain of the many people who knew him and were his friends. To his loved ones goes the affectionate embrace of the whole Scala." Acclaims Chair, Ian Slater OAM said today that Luca was unique, such a gentleman and a significant force in Italian opera. We are all shocked and will greatly miss our dear colleague. We thank him for all his support and work that helped Acclaim and our singers.

19.01.2022 Acclaim supports the work of Nicole Car who has launched the Freelance Artist Relief Fund Australia, which will help provide financial aid to artists who have been hurt financially by the current health crisis. The organization was founded last month and offers grants to Australian classical singers. Already $150,000 has been raised, but the fund is aiming for over $1 million. All donations are tax-deductible. Nicole said "Freelance artists have seen their contracts annulled ...and income disappear for the foreseeable future and as of today, nobody knows when it will be possible to perform again," Car stated in a press release. "There is no safety net and there was no time to prepare. I felt I needed to do something to help my colleagues who, like me, fall into the gaps." 17.01.2022 Congratulations Siobhan Stagg on the wonderful review that your new CD "Aquarelles" has been receiving in Germany: "Australian lyrical coloratura soprano Siobhan Stagg... sings the six songs intimate, stylistically flawless and yet always with the expressive sign of a modern young woman. The miraculous legato, the moon-clear beauty of the timbres, as well as the featherlight heights make Mrs. Stagg an ideal Debussy interpreter. Text Clarity, the artful design of vocal lines and sound quality go hand in hand."
