17.01.2022 COMMUNITY SERVICE | At the end of each year, our Year 10 students undertake community service activities both on-campus, helping in classrooms, the office, and library, and off-campus, visiting various organisations that help those in need. This year included five students visiting the Caboolture Community Action (CCA) to help out by wrapping Christmas presents. CCA offers assistance to members of the Caboolture community who are doing it tough. Another six students went to... the Caloundra Corps of the Salvation Army where they took on several duties such as sorting food to go into hampers, moving boxes of toys from the upstairs storage space to the sorting area and setting up a temporary and secure sorting and distribution space. Earlier this month, six of the students visited Prep MS as part of their service activities on-campus. They joined in the prep activities, helped them finish their tasks and had fun with math activities. The preps LOVED their visitors and begged them to come back again. The Year 10s had trouble leaving because the Preps didn’t want them to leave. Mrs Simpson said, Thank you year 10s for being the highlight of our day.
15.01.2022 SENIOR JERSEY REMINDER | The 2021 Senior Jersey is now available for purchase. This is a wonderful and exciting tradition for our young men and women embarking on the final year of their secondary schooling at ACCM. Each jersey costs $84 and will require a credit or debit card to finalise the order. Orders can be placed online by going to the link on the Senior Hub. Here you will find images of this year's design, as well as a sizing chart. Please note that nicknames and si...zing cannot be altered once an order has been placed, so be sure to double-check everything before finalising payment. Nicknames must be no more than 12 characters (including spaces) and be in line with the College ethos. The safest choice for ensuring that a jersey is worn well into the future is to simply use a first or surname as the nickname. The ordering portal will be open until November 30th. This will ensure that the order can be produced and received in time for the start of Term 1, 2021. Please do not hesitate to send through any queries you may have. 04.01.2022 SCULPTURES | What can you do with cardboard, masking tape, paper towels and paint? Well the Year 9 Art class were challenged last term with creating a relief sculpture to depict the face of one of the famous artists from history while at the same time learning about these artists. Drawing with a pencil onto a flat surface can already be difficult but learning to analyse the shapes and the proportions of a face and then building those shapes up is harder again. Students also had to try and mix ‘skin’ colours from the primary colours of yellow, red and blue with the addition of white. The photo shows a few of the class's successes. Mrs Jenny Evans (Art Teacher)
