25.01.2022 The NDIS has built a two-year plan based on participant reviews to strengthen the services it offers. It is called the 2020-2021 Improvement Plan for Participant Service. Why have a SIP (Service Improvement Plan)? The strategy consists of all the steps to be completed to meet the commitments made in the NDIS Service Charter and Service Guarantee. For all participants, the SIP aims to make NDIS processes work better. As a result of input from participants and the recommendat...ions of the Tune Analysis, it was made. The service improvement plan will help on improving the following: 1. Communication with the NDIS 2. Decisions and guidelines from the NDIS 3. Independent assessments will be used more regularly to help determine access to the NDIS 4. Offer greater flexibility in the process for creating NDIS Plans and offer greater support for using your plan 5. Budgets will become more flexible 6. There will be more flexibility in funding for early intervention supports for children. The NDIS has said that, especially if you are in a vulnerable position, it will proactively check in on participants more frequently. Direct support for learners with complex needs or persons needing critical support will also be strengthened. #ndis #ndisprovider #serviceplan

24.01.2022 Cooking can be fun! Its an essential part of staying healthy, and it helps you become more independent. We will be are sharing our top five tips today, so you can be safe, organised, and take advantage of the many NDIS supports available to help you in the kitchen. 1. Spend time setting up your kitchen. Setting up your kitchen is vital for any cook, but even more so if you have restricted mobility, low vision, or difficulty handling standard kitchen equipment. Here are some ...ideas for setting up your kitchen right for you (and rental property friendly): If standing at a kitchen bench, consider whether a stool, adjustable bench, bench on wheels, or wheelchair table might do the job. Ensure everything you need is easy to access e.g., spices, oils, and sauces next to the stove. Use benchtop storage such as shelving or tiered racks if you have trouble accessing cupboards or drawers. 2. Plan your menu. Being organised can make a difference, and it saves money. Planning includes thinking ahead about what you’re going to make and checking you have all the ingredients if your busy try using e.g., Pininterest or Yummly to get healthy meal ideas. 3. Prepare everything in advance. Before you begin cooking, review your recipe. Wash any dirty dishes. Peel and chop vegetables. Get out the pots, pans, and utensils you will need before you start cooking. Try using colour cutting boards for the meat, vegetables, and chicken. 4. Be safety aware - Always wash your hands with soap and water before you start preparing food, and after handling any raw meats. 5 Take advantage of assistive technology - If your goals relate to be more independent in the home, you may be able to use your NDIS funding to purchase assistive technology for the kitchen e.g. knife guards, custom cutting boards, specially designed peelers, timers, can openers, Non-slip mats.

21.01.2022 In your NDIS Strategy, do you have an employment-related objective? Nearly a third of working-age NDIS participants have some sort of work-related purpose in their strategy. It can create self-confidence to be working, increase freedom and give you a sense of intent. To help you meet your career goals, NDIS members now have access to several new jobs supports, designed to give more flexibility about where you work and support. There are various forms of career assistance fun...ded by NDIS available to assist you on your journey to employment. On 1 July 2020, NDIS job supports extended to make "fair and appropriate" supports available to participants in a broader range of workplaces, including private and government employers, social enterprises, micro-enterprises, self-employment or an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE). As part of the NDIA pledge to help more people with disabilities to reach their career goals, support now includes the entire work journey, including: Identification and creation of career pathways Job help transformation, such as improving your skills, Supports that can help you get a job and sustain a job Evaluations and counselling related to jobs, such as career planning On the job assistance to work / company of your choosing, not just conventional assisted jobs #employment #work #job #ndisprovider

10.01.2022 Improved relationships are a budget in your NDIS Strategy under Capacity Building. The purpose of Strengthened Partnerships is to include funds for specialized evaluation and care where there are specific or ambiguous therapeutic needs for an NDIS client. Depending on the needs, the types of aids covered differ, but may include: Specialist behavior and support for intervention Education of behavior management techniques for caregivers ... Help for social skills growth Intensive interference in behavior. In consultation with you, your relatives, carers and key support individuals (including treating specialists), positive behavioral support plans must be established. In certain situations, only practitioners who are considered suitably trained by the NDIS Consistency and Safeguards Commission can create a PBS Plan. During your planning meeting with your NDIA Planner, if you think you can benefit from this kind of funding, address your needs. #ndis #relationship #community #growth
