23.01.2022 Ive just finished my 12-week internship in ARC. Thanks to this internship program and the support I received from my supervisor Henry and Chung, Ive gained so much. This internship program really exceeded my expectations in many ways. I never thought I could gain so much knowledge and skills from this internship. The first day I came to the office, Henry asked me to look through the tax pack, which confused me at first. But later I found it really helped when I started doi...ng the individual tax return cases. The case list is really well designed, enabling us to learn new knowledge from every case. Every time I finished a case, Henry would check the answer for me, corrected my errors and taught me some new things. This process provided us not only new knowledge but practical experience. I really appreciate Henry for trusting me with his real cases on ITR and BAS. The real cases were always more complicated but I was able to learn more from them. And the other supervisor Chung is really energetic and willing to teach us anything we want to learn. I learned a lot about bookkeeping from her. Henry and Chung not only taught us stuff in accounting, but also guided us in finding the job. They gave advice on our resume and shared their experience in finding the job, which were really useful and practical for us. Overall, I really think I made a good choice to take the internship in ARC. Im so grateful for everything here, the comfortable working environment, friendly staff, supportive supervisors and the other interns whom I made friends with. In the end, thanks Henry and Chung again for their generous sharing, patient teaching, tolerant forgiveness of our numerous mistakes. And thanks ARC again for providing such good opportunities for us to learn essential knowledge and skills in our future jobs.

14.01.2022 ARC Students feedback: Qijians Review for internship at AAS It has been a pleasure working as an intern at AAS over the past 3 months. Incipiently, proper guidance and useful training are provided by my supervisor, Henry, to waken up and deepen the accounting knowledge I gained at university. After that, I was assigned cases to get familiarize with workflow and use of software. During the internship, Ive enjoyed the great chance to learn how to prepare financial statem...ents, tax return and business activity statements using accounting software such as MYOB and Handisoft. One of the highlights of this intern is that practical accounting skills were obtained through the completion of not only mock cases, but also real-life cases. Here, I would like to thank Henry for providing me adequate support to assist in absorbing practical skills and accounting knowledge. As accountant work can get quite redundant, I also learnt from him the importance of building up workflow in an organised pipeline so that everything can be kept on track. Finally, I would like to thank for the opportunity to take internship at AAS for 3 months, especially Henry, who offered so much help and advice whenever I am lost. "After 40 weeks of studying and working at ARC and internship company, Ill be leaving with the most useful knowledge in accounting which I have learned there. My first internship experience was in Adelaide. In terms of accounting practices, I learned in-depth in ARC how to be proficient in the MYOB accounting system through dealing with real cases. This included recording invoice receipts, recording bank statements and performin...g monthly reconciliations, setting up employee accounts and creating payroll statement, using different methods of depreciation for cars at different price points, adjusting accounts with additional information, filling in BAS forms and file tax returns. In addition, I learned how to apply for a tax number, how to make a personal tax refund and how to create a monthly cash flow statement. Barbara gave me a lot of guidance and assistance as my trainer in Adelaide. Later, for personal reasons, I had to transfer my internship to Melbourne. ARC dealt with the transition with such efficiency that my internship could continue smoothly without disruption. In the new environment, my new supervisor and fellow colleagues were really friendly to me, both in life and work, becoming my first genuine friends in Melbourne. Ive thoroughly enjoyed my whole experience at the ARC and internship company. Not only did I improve my confidence in securing a position in the accounting profession, but I also learned how to communicate better with my colleagues, how to understand others, and how to value everyones opinions. 03.01.2022 ARC Student’s feedback: In November 2018, I participated in ARC's professional year program, which consisted of 7 months of Australian Business Procedure learning and 3 months of accounting internship. As a trainer, Davy used his vast knowledge of business to introduce to us the working environment of Australian accounting, the relationship among colleagues and relevant laws during the first 7 months. Through the study of this basic knowledge, we gained a clear under...standing of what we could expect in the future business environment as well as learning how to protect our rights within the Australian business environment. In addition, Davy also taught us how to attend an interview, how to answer the questions and motivated us to find our dream job. Once we had completed our 7 months of classroom study, I was placed into an accounting firm for an internship. I had no work experience. in the beginning, this internship seemed quite daunting. However, with the help of my mentor, I quickly eased into the new working environment. My mentor not only explained to me how to apply accounting theory, but he also provided me with abundant real cases for practical learning. Whenever I asked for help, he would be patient with his explanations and carefully provide me with extended reading to assist with expanding my knowledge. For example, there was a tax loss in a complex case, and I did not know how to deal with it in the system. My mentor firstly explained the theoretical knowledge and gave me some other examples, which impressed me a lot. After that, I could deal with similar problems with confidence. During the internship, I not only gained a deeper understanding of accounting but also learned to combine the original knowledge with practice. In conclusion, ARC's Professional Year has rewarded me by introducing me to a lot of mentors and finally allowing me to discover a clearer vision for my future which will pave the way to ensuring a solid foundation to a future career. -----Xiaomo Fan
