15.01.2022 The case of the dodgy camper: We recently investigated an electrician whose tax return had some fishy claims... a camping guide, portable fridge, jerry can, s...prinkler, BBQ wipes, shovels, soft drink and a picnic rug He said his boss needed him to travel and camp for work, but when we spoke to his employer they confirmed that wasnt the case. Since the sparkie didnt have any genuine expenses and knowingly misrepresented his circumstances, we knocked back the claims and applied a penalty. Steer clear of the dodgy deductions trap.
