11.01.2022 A big shout out to Federal MP, Andrew Wilke, for being the ONLY rep from the 226 in Australia to respond to ACCSA writing to each individually calling for support for a National CCS Accreditation System. Mr Wilke has written to the federal Attorney-General stating that accreditation needs to be implemented as a matter of urgency. Please share....

02.01.2022 Government funded CCSs receive funding supplementation to cover costs arising from the Equal Remuneration Order (ERO) - ie staff wages that have directly increased for the service, as well as staff on-costs (i.e. superannuation and leave entitlements) which may have increased because of the ERO. This supplementation is due to be withdrawn in July 2021 and will in many instances result in funded services either closing or reducing service availability (especially on weekends). ACCSA has written to the federal Attorney General requesting that this action be reassessed and funding provided to CCSs that ensure access to safe service. We look forward to reporting on the response.
