21.01.2022 Happy New Year 2020 to all. Just an update: in 2 weeks Windows 7 sees the end of support. Of course, Microsoft want you to buy a new computer with Windows 10 pre-installed, but many times the old computer can be upgraded for less. Either with Windows 10 or even with Linux - which is much easier to learn than Windows 10 when you come from Windows 7. ACDC can do either way and can also evaluate your old computer if its capable and upgrade/build a new computer for you if you ne...ed one. Of course we do Laptops as well. Just ring Max 0468 922 804 or visit https://www.acdc-help.com.au See more

20.01.2022 Its Patch Tuesday (in the US) - the first one in the new decade. By the looks there are only minor patches, but its the last free update for WINDOWS 7... so you should update your W7 computers. Yes, Windows 7 has finally reached end of support. No reason to panic, it will not stop working and with a good virus scanner and mindful www-surfing you should be fine for a while. However, the final day will come... ACDC are offering Windows 10 compatibility checks and upgrades at affordable prices. WHY NOT taking the opportunity and have a fresh, clean and fast installation on your computer? ACDC does not only upgrade to Windows 10 - we can also discuss if Linux wouldnt server your purposes better - and free you from the Microsoft-Update hell? Just ring ACDC 0468 922 804

18.01.2022 Hi all, as you may have heard of the cyber attacks... just keep your computer up-to-date and pay an extra attention on suspicious mail. The target of these attacks are government sites and corporations, they wouldnt address your private computer directly, however, evil can be spread from a compromised official site (or one that looks like it). With any concerns or for a thorough computer check ring Max at 0468 922 804 https://www.cyber.gov.au//advisory-2020-008-copy-paste-com

17.01.2022 CATALINA! Apple have released their latest system and there are some good reasons to NOT upgrade just yet. As usual, Apple have made a number of applications incompatible, so please check the vendor pages of the software you rely on if they are ready. In any case, do a full system backup before you switch! https://9to5mac.com/2019/10/08/upgrade-to-macos-catalina/ https://www.forbes.com//apple-macos-catalina-broken-upda/... https://time.com/5696302/macos-catalina-upgrade/ See more

14.01.2022 What I found on OneFlare today: 8<---------------------------------- Type of help needed: Other (Please specify), I have a MSI GT780DX I have been able to pull apart and do things myself. The other day I tried to plug in the 3 pin cpu/gpu cooler fan plug back into the motherboard socket and it wouldn't go. I tried for a while and managed to break a small piece off the plastic socket, so I gave up. It's got me stummped. 8<----------------------------------- Such things can ge...t quite expensive. It might have ruined the system board. If you give your laptop to a professional business, like @Adelaide Computer & Data Care , you will be covered by insurance and receive a warranty on the repair. Things to ponder about, before DIY: - do I feel confident to pick the correct information from YouTube etc? (there's a lot of misinformation around) - do I feel confident of trouble shooting if something goes wrong? - do I have the appropriate tools to do the job? - am I willing to take the risk of causing more damage? If you answer any of these quesions with "NO" you better ring Max at ACDC 0468 922 804 :-) See more
