23.01.2022 LED LIGHTING This recent installation of LED lighting, at a property in Curramore, is the perfect example for those looking to save on their electricity bill. We recently changed over a whole house from 50w halogen downlights to 8w LEDs. The house had a total of 55 fittings. Halogen downlights aren’t just expensive to run, they can also be a safety issue with the heat they create.... This section is for those looking to save on their power bill in the long run: This particular home had 21 X 50w downlights in the living room. If they were all running, for an average of 4 hours a day, they would use approximately 4.2kWh. We changed these over to 21 X 8w LED downlights which would use approximately 0.672 kWh over 4 hours. 08.01.2022 We were pleased to get a call from Maleny Country Estate @ Reesville to come in and have a look at some work they need completed. Thankfully we got the go ahead to tackle this major renovation of the main house. They are completely revamping the upstairs section to something special containing five bedrooms, three bathrooms, two kitchens, two lounge rooms as well as a dining and make up room. After two full on days and over 1km of cable run we have been able to complete the... pre wire in great time. The existing dwelling contains no roof cavity, bulk hard wood and thick block walls. A massive effort to get this full pre wire finished by the end of our working year. We look forward to completing this project in early 2021 as well as undertaking more at this exciting venue. 07.01.2022 We love getting feedback like this! This customer was chasing external lighting out the front of their house. We ended up installing three downlights and a twin LED spot light with a built in sensor. The downlights are controlled by a sunset switch with a timer; the sunset switch turns the lights on automatically when natural light levels drop. We also programmed in the timer to turn the lights off after 4 hours of run time. This gave the customer piece of mind knowing that ...even if they weren’t home the lights would come on. We also installed an override switch to manually turn the lights on if required. Not only does the downlights work as security lighting, they also give the front of the house an aesthetic finish. 01.01.2022 UNDERGROUND POWER We specialise in it! A 240m run from the customer’s property pole to the main metering panel - this recent project, in Reesville has been our biggest single phase underground installation to date. ... What a review from Jai! Highly professional and responsive. Tom sorted out a new underground service to replace our defected overhead service. He also upgraded our switch boards for safety and to comply with current standards. Honest tradesman & competitive pricing. Cannot recommend Tom enough! The existing service at Jai’s property was an overhead bare aerial which was installed in 1990. The flora had grown over the aerial conductors and a couple of poles were quickly rotting out, due to no maintenance. In the end, the overgrown shrubs and trees forced the conductors into each other, causing a dead short. This blew the supply authority fuses at the service line and down the street at the transformer. We discussed with Jai his options and after establishing a 3 phase supply wasn’t available for his property we opted for an underground single phase service. We used 150mm2 aluminium XLPE conductors to achieve approx 2% volt drop, as the supply authorities allow a total of 5% voltage drop over a whole installation. We also went onto upgrade the main metering panel and two sub-boards on the property to comply with current standards. Thanks Jai for trusting us to sort this out for you!
