04.01.2022 During World War II, U.S. companies were expected to handle emergencies at their plants in case municipal fire departments were busy elsewhere. This is a photo of our Motorola Fire Department in 1944 in Chicago. The fire truck was mounted on a Ford chassis, and the O.C.D. pump unit, leased from the U.S. government, could handle two hoses 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Today, our Motorola Emergency Response Team (MERT) volunteers still support health and safety initiatives in our f...acilities. Thank you to all Motorola volunteers - past, present and future - your remarkable efforts ensure the safety of so many.
