23.01.2022 A blessed and peaceful christmas to everyone from Ace!

20.01.2022 Hi Guys, A quick update. Despite what has happened at the uni we are running a programme this season. It will be slightly less full on, but still busy for 5 days a week.... Stewi, Bob and the usual crew involved again. The lads are staying at Currie (Uni) Hall, and using the same facilities as previous years. One or two folks at the uni not happy with our Vice Chancellor and his decisions, we will keep ACE ticking over this year and see what transpires for next season. 12.01.2022 Dear friends, Just a quick line to let you know where we are at with the academy and my usual visit. The sad news from my point of view is that after the most remarkable 12 years the academy is closing, and so I will not be with you this summer.... UWA have decided after 7 months of pontificating and negotiations that a cricket academy does fit in their new corporate look designed to move UWA into the top 50 world wide uni's by 2050. The new vice chancellor (unlike the cricket mad previous one) does not believe sport should play a part in uni life !! So despite being profitable, having the opportunity to be an ECB centre of excellence for the next 5 years etc UWA are closing us down. Please please do not think I am anything but grateful for the most amazing past 12 years, for a pretty useless cricketer from Old Whittington to have had the experiences of working with amazing people, players and coaches, has been nothing short of a dream, but as with all dreams we have to wake up !! I just wanted to let you guys know why I would not be scrounging a meal, a bed or some sort of favour form you this summer. Also and the main purpose of this note is to say thank you for your help, advice, encouragement, hospitality, prayers and all out support. To say I will miss not being in England during the summer with you is the biggest understatement of the year. I am dusting down the old suits from the back of the wardrobe, learning to fasten a tie again and applying for jobs back in the real world. 05.01.2022 Would just like to pass on our best for the Hussey family and everyone who knew Ted. Ted Hussey passed away this morning having lost his battle with cancer. Ted worked with ACE for a number of years and is one of the worlds great people. Larger than life character with a huge heart and it is a massive loss. To all those past boys who knew Ted they would all very much understand that. We are sure he is in a better place now. Prayers with his family.
