23.01.2022 It’s NAIDOC Week (8 - 15 November), which is an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This year’s theme is Always was, always will be, which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. The ACE family recognises and celebrates this country’s rich and deep historydating back thousands of generations to the very first footprints by First Nations peoples. We are taking this week to see, hear, and learn this country’s history and to celebrate that we have one of the oldest continuing cultures on the planet.

The teams were assembled, goodie bags delivered and we got settled in for a night of fun.... Congratulations to the ACE Landscape team ‘Flower Pot Men’ for winning bragging rights. 14.01.2022 The Franklin Bridge Replacement project for Ace Infrastructure has made front page news. Project works involved demolition of the existing single lane bridge structure over the Yarrowee River, including abutments and piers and construction of a new two-lane, three-span bridge in its place. Included in the scope is earthworks/roadworks associated with the new approaches to the bridge.... The 2.8 million dollar project is due for completion in November 2020.

13.01.2022 Ace Contractors were involved in a contemporary project with Stonnington Council along with a landscape Architect Rush Wright Associates to create a safe and functional pedestrian zone with a boutique vibe. The King Street Urban Redevelopment project transformed the old forgotten street that links Chapel Street and Little Chapel Street into an artistic lane-way that pays homage to Prahran’s history. The new lane-way was designed and built to increase garden bed vegetation, i...mprove lighting and safety, provide seating all while fitting in with the vibrancy of Chapel Street. The tensioned wire structure includes the first time use of incorporating artwork (designed by a local seamstress) into a tensioned mesh to reflect back on the industrious history of Prahran. Installed into the tight space was a network of architecturally designed poles to link the wired artwork, that have a special GOBO (patterned) light fittings that illuminate multiple patterns onto the granite pavers forming contrasting shapes. Whilst it was the aim to make King Street a more visually appealing pedestrian zone it’s utility was also pursued with the installation of street furniture made from recycled plastics. The custom made seating furniture with the inclusion of bike hoops, bollards and lighting for safety makes it an inviting place to sit and enjoy. It was quite the team effort with the project being completed by three of our ACE divisions. Well done ACE Landscaping, ACE Electrical and ACE Survey on constructing this unique and creative spot in Prahran.

08.01.2022 Today marks R U OK day, a timely reminder to start a conversation that could change a life. Now more than ever we need to be checking in on our friends, family and colleagues. We at Ace encourage the conversation about mental health and wellbeing every single day. It was admirable to see so many faces (not all captured) log on to support the movement and to check in. Well done team.
