20.01.2022 With tremendous sadness, we advise that the one person per 4 square metre capacity rule has the effect of making the Aces at The Maj season unviable to proceed. All shows scheduled for next week are cancelled, as was this week’s line-up, together representing 50% of our season. All ticket holders will be provided refunds by the Fringe World Festival or Perth Theatre Trust box offices. Please be patient as they have hundreds of refunds to process.... All cancelled Aces at The Maj shows have been offered automatic entry into our 2022 program. If you wish to support the performers impacted by COVID restrictions, you can make a direct donation to FRINGE WORLD’s www.fringefund.org - funds donated will be distributed fairly between the performers who have had shows cancelled. Our thoughts go out to the diverse components that make up the arts industry; the performers, techs, venue and festival staff, our volunteers and audiences. It’s worth noting our sector is always the first to be impacted by shutdowns, last to be re-opened, first to raise our hands to hold fundraisers when other Australians are suffering, and last to receive support that seems to come so easily to other impacted industries.
