09.01.2022 With over 35 000 000 reported cases of COVID-19 across more than 200 countries worldwide, lifestyles have been affected greatly, including our exercise habits. Recent studies have shown a 30% reduction in physical activity levels and an increase in time spent seated of around the same level. As trainers we know that lack of activity is the greatest risk for cardiovascular disease, obesity, cancer, diabetes, hypertension, bone and joint disease, depression and premature death. As we emerge from the COVID-19 crisis in 2021 we will be at the forefront of ensuring that our clients maximise the health benefits of exercise and that starts with education. Please see the infographic below for some interesting facts.

08.01.2022 When you reflect on your progress, it's important to celebrate your achievementsbig or small. Focusing on your success rather than your setbacks will help drive you towards your future goals. The only time you should ever look back is to see how far you’ve come! #MondayMotivation

08.01.2022 Walking the talk ACFPT lead trainer and assessor, David Vella, spent this past Sunday with Mick Crocker, Willie Tonga, Brett Kimmorley, Dani Levi, Michael Dobson, Dallas McIlwain (NRL), and the coaching staff from Wynnum Manly Rugby League for a youth development session. Dave was joined by three students he mentors as he instructed the young athletes (11-18 years) about the safest and most efficient ways to move on the field. This was a great opportunity for the students t...o see a range of different drills and coaching techniques and to hone their own coaching skills. Regardless of whether you are still studying, are a new trainer/coach, or have been in the fitness and sport sector for many years, you should always take opportunities like this to learn from other coaches and trainers and to study how each of them is able to take their knowledge and deliver it to their clients and players.

07.01.2022 It has been exciting to hear lately that many of our learners have undertaken their course of study because they have been offered employment in the fitness industry. For those still looking for full-time or part-time employment please see below Fitness Australia's Jobs Board. https://jobs.fitness.org.au/
