There is no argument that the COVID-19 outbreak has certainly taken its toll on job seekers and business owners alike. Currently there are 1205 vacancies advertised online across a wide range of sectors. Notably the most roles being sought are in Trades & Services, Healthcare, Mining and Hospitality with Construction also being strongly represented. Many new projects are being awarded and others fast tracked through the tender process to get them underway in the shortest possible time. This of course, causes a glut of vacancies for skilled candidates, which at times can be in short supply. The easing of the border restrictions will help alleviate some shortages across several sectors as the pace for project starts accelerating. The Civil Construction sector, which enjoyed stability during the shutdowns, has continued to see a steady increase in demand as more projects are awarded across the region.
