21.01.2022 Why am I talking about water? Water is absolutely essential to human life. Of everything that the human body needs to survive water is 2nd on the list being beaten by only oxygen. Water is essential element to life also being necessary for plant and animal life. Is the water we are drinking though actually good for us? When it contains substances like Lead, Atrazine, Chlorine, Fluoride, Arsenic, Perchlorate and Pharmaceuticals it is probably not.... How did these substances get there? 17.01.2022 Why am I talking about water? Part 2 Water is an essential element of life, and we all need to consume enough water. Dehydration in today’s society is far too common, instead of water we drink Soft drinks, Coffee, Milk and Flavoured Milk, Powerade/Gatorade, Alcohol, Fruit Juice, Cordial etc.... This is not saying that if thirsty and we don’t have anything else we shouldn’t drink them, but switch to water as soon as possible. Drinking them when we are thirsty is important, however the sugar and caffeine cause most of the problem. Caffeine and Sugar work as diuretics this means you will urinate more frequently that is the body’s system for eliminating them, but a lot of water also goes out in the urine. It is so easy to get to 1 to 2 percent dehydration . We are busy, we don’t have water with us, and we’re rushing around. That type of dehydration is very mild almost imperceptible when it comes to feeling thirsty but this small amount of dehydration does affect cognitive thinking, mood and vigour negatively. How much water should we drink? That is a matter of some debate, most experts agree that 2 -3 litres of water a day is the most beneficial amount. 13.01.2022 The Healthy Balance One question I always get asked is Is there a healthy balance?. It depends on what someones perspective of balance is. ... Some people are happy to put up with discomfort others prefer to be energetic and have no side effects of any kind. In my last blog you will find the definition of the healthy balance that most people would prefer. In tradition a great balance can be achieved when you eat organic plant based food with using grass fed meet as condiment, using good quality supplements and exercise everyday at least 30 minutes.
