16.01.2022 SOME INSPIRATION FOR YOUR TUESDAY Fatima, one of our students, is currently in Year 11 and her long term goal is to have a career in medicine, with a specific interest in pharmacy. Our wonderful mentor @Richard was able to organise a visit to the Perth Children’s Hospital where his friend is a senior pharmacist. Fatima was taken on a tour and given an explanation of the day-to-day routine of the various pharmacy roles in the hospital. She also got to meet Sally, a fell...ow refugee from Iraq, who is also pharmacist at the hospital. How fantastic is that?!

05.01.2022 !GOOD NEWS ALERT! As we come to the end of the year, one of our students has received fantastic news about her future! Annie, who graduated high school a couple of weeks ago and has been with us for a number of years, has been accepted to study Psychology at Murdoch University next year! ... A gigantic thank you to all who have mentored Annie, with special thanks to Richard What fantastic news - the Achievers Club is happy to play whatever role we can in helping our students to achieve their goals

03.01.2022 In Senator’s Statements this week I took the chance to thank the many community groups and schools across Perth’s northern suburbs who invited me to share in th...eir celebrations and presentations. A special acknowledgement to the students of Carmel School Perth Western Australia in Dianella, Emmanuel Christian School in Girrahween, Good Shepherd Catholic Primary School in Kiara, Illawarra Primary School In Ballajura, Mary MacKillop Catholic Community Primary School in Ballajura, Nollamara Primary School in Nollamara and Tapping Primary School in Tapping who received accolades for excelling both inside and outside the classroom . Additionally, I made special mention of celebrating Australia Day 2020 with Christian Porter, Liza Harvey and more than 1,000 new citizens at the City of Wanneroo Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony and the good work of the Wanneroo Lions Club Bushfire Appeal at Discovery Park in Banksia Grove . Congratulations to Jayda Feifar of Girrawheen Senior High School, Daniel McEvoy of the Achievers Club WA Inc and BAPS Swaminarayan Cultural Centre for their deserving recognition in the City of Wanneroo Australia Day Awards 2020. Lastly, we welcomed the Lunar New Year Year of the Rat with the Vietnamese Community in Australia WA Chapter at the Tet New Year Celebration 2020 in Wanneroo and Chung Wah Association at the 2020 Perth Chinese New Year Fair at Northbridge Piazza !

02.01.2022 A huge CONGRATULATIONS goes to one of our students, Hassan, the first Achievers Club student to be be admitted to university!! Hassan has received an offer from The University of Western Australia in the course he wanted! One of 9 children, Hassan has set a great example for his siblings to follow. It took a lot of hard work and determination from Hassan, his school teachers and our wonderful mentors - @Emily Robson, an Engineer, and Aaron Dominish, a Chartered Accountant... - to achieve his goal. We initially struggled to find mentors who could help Hassan with his difficult Year 12 maths and science subjects. When we were finally able to help Hassan, this is the email we received: "Thank you so much Danny for this amazing news. I told my mum and dad a moment ago and they were so happy for me. I'm glad that my family was given this great opportunity, an opportunity that will lead us to greater academic performance and exceptional self-esteem. I want to sincerely thank you once again, coming from my whole family... Thank you Danny for putting in all this effort to find me a mentor, I appreciate your dedication and diligence." We are all very proud of Hassan and our amazing mentors, Emily and Aaron, who supported him so strongly throughout 2019. Here's to the first, but not the last!!
