Were still here to help!

15.01.2022 Hi families! Achieve Therapys team is launching teletherapy. Were using Coviu, a telepractice system specifically for health professionals. The OT Toolbox has a great explanation for you to look at https://www.theottoolbox.com/understanding-teletherapy/ Were excited to be able to continue helping our families. In these uncertain times, its important to provide the certainty that our therapists are still here to help.

Current information is that schools will stay open, but may stop therapists coming into schools. If this happens at your childs school: please let us know, and we will work with you to find ways to continue therapy services for your child.

08.01.2022 Were feeling proud! We have so far supported 5 clients to get a low cost device through their NDIS funds to make sure they can continue to access therapy online. Today was our first purchase for a NDIS managed client! Were following the guidelines carefully and making sure our clients can still access speech and OT in the comfort of their homes!

08.01.2022 This week is book week!! Book week celebrates books and particularly Australian authors. Reading with your child is a wonderful way to strengthen your connection, to grow their imaginations, and enrich their language. 05.01.2022 Coronavirus: The health and wellbeing of all people are important to us. Achieve Therapy is asking that if you have travelled to China recently, to please wait 2 weeks before returning to our clinic. The NSW Dept of Education has released this guide. 04.01.2022 We are back in the clinic!! Its great to be able to offer face to face sessions for those who need it. We are keeping things safe by: having only one therapist in the clinic at a time; spacing out appointments so that you wont be in contact with any other families; cleaning all surfaces after each session; handwashing before and after each session; and much more! We still encourage families to continue telehealth (online therapy) where possible, but its great to be able to offer face to face services in a safe environment

02.01.2022 Guess what?? We are getting started with telehealth to provide speech therapy and occupational therapy through your computer. Coronavirus is causing lots of rethinking in how we help people. Telehealth has been used for therapy for many years now, and been shown to have strong evidence for being effective. Our team are taking two weeks out from seeing clients face to face - we want everyone to stay safe and healthy, so we are looking at how we can keep helping our clients while reducing the risk of catching or spreading coronavirus. Well continue to keep you updated!

02.01.2022 Update: NDIS clients can currently use funds in Core Supports to purchase a device to access Telehealth. From 9th May this will be more flexible. Achieve Therapy is able to help with information and support.

02.01.2022 We came across this today! Its often tricky to explain Core Words when were also juggling a session, so heres an opportunity for parents to learn and help their children with AAC
