22.01.2022 We are pleased to see John Hughes, Commander of NSW SES Blue Mountains has got our donation for the incident management operations up and running in time for the storm season. We have worked with several members of this Unit as part of different learning programs over the last couple of years and on behalf of the team at ACIM Solutions we feel privileged to be able to assist, even in a small way, as part of their wonderful efforts in support of their community. Best wishes to all the team for a quiet season ahead! #emergencymanagement #incidentmanagement #BlueMountainsSES

18.01.2022 Mock court session COVID style! This Certificate IV in Government Investigations program involved virtual classrooms, individual tutorials, self directed learning and finished with the moot court with Barrister Jason Hale. As usual, the feedback was very positive and the participants always really enjoy the experience and the opportunity to learn from Jason. #acimsolutions #PSP40416
17.01.2022 We have been fortunate to have incorporated some remarkable guest speakers into our learning programs this year. This week we were very grateful to have welcomed Joe Buffone PSM GAICD, DG of Emergency Management Australia to present on our final Incident Controller program for the year. Joe provided a fascinating insight into the establishment and operation of the Victorian Aged Care Response Centre which was set up to coordinate and expand resources to tackle the COVID-19 cr...isis and escalating loss of life in aged care homes. Joe described many of the same challenges most incident controllers experience including; establishing and maintaining a common operating picture, defining the problem and then setting clear objectives that are communicated and repeated and strategies to maintain visibility of the key issues. He also described his experience in this particular emergency of the importance of identifying and activating stakeholders and a broader network to leverage a genuine unification of effort in order to action those well defined objectives. The feedback was very positive and all the participants really appreciated the opportunity to ask questions around this adaptation to the traditional IMT process and model. #incidentmanagement #emergencymanagement #acimsolutions

15.01.2022 So pleased to have had the opportunity to meet with this fabulous team from the Molonglo ACT RFS over the weekend to hear their final presentations as part of the Diploma of Emergency Management PUA50119 skill set program. We have been working together since March via zoom each week so it was wonderful to actually meet and go through the final part together on the weekend. Thanks for the hospitality! #ACIMSolutions #Diplomaemergencymanagement #AIDR
15.01.2022 Link to Inquiries/Royal Commissions now available. We know there is a strong interest in understanding and implementing the lessons learned from the various government responses around Australia to the 2019-2020 bushfires and COVID19. Given the number of reports being released we have collated what is available to make the process a little easier. Please click on the link to access what is now available until 1st October. #acimsolutions #emergencymanagement #incidentmanagement #diplomaofpublicsafety

13.01.2022 Lovely to get such nice feedback. Thanks Stephen!
12.01.2022 Last week we ran a small group tutorial format program as part of our Certificate IV in Government Investigation course in Canberra. Our team Barrister, Jason Hale was on hand to support the team with insights and tips for professional brief preparation prior to running the moot court. The participants very much valued the opportunity to discuss legal issues as part of their specific operational environment as part of continuing to build their professional regulatory practice. #ACIMSolutions #CertificateIVingovernmentinvestigation

10.01.2022 Many thanks to Tim Wiebusch, Chief Officer Operations Vic SES for his excellent presentation this morning to participants on our Level 2 Incident Controller program. All the participants, from another emergency service organisation, really enjoyed hearing about his experience as part of many and diverse IMT's managing a range of hazards. His insights into how important it is to develop strong mechanisms to build and maintain situational awareness, ensure the structure of the IMT is appropriate and equipped and how to integrate SME's into an IMT were invaluable. Your efforts were much appreciated #incidentmanagement #emergencymanagement #acimsolutions
07.01.2022 It says a lot about a person when they have worked through the night dealing with a major event but they still meet their commitment to spend time with their teams to provide support to aspiring leaders. Many thanks to Commander Trevor Arnold, SA SES, who did just that on Saturday. Your involvement and practical advice was very much appreciated by all the participants. Certainly real leadership in action. If you are interested in undertaking leadership programs in emergency management please get in touch - [email protected] #SASES #acimsolutions #emergencymanagement
07.01.2022 For any regulatory agencies in the NT we are running another face to face program for Certificate IV in Government Investigations (PSP40416) in Darwin in September and October 2020. There are only a few positions left as this is a dedicated small group program to encourage discussion. (<10ppl). This is great for agencies that may only have 1 or 2 people requiring accreditation. If you are after a highly tailored program delivered in f2f workshop format locally please get in ...touch. #certificateivingovernmentinvestigations #PSP40416 #acimsolutions
07.01.2022 Last weekend saw us start a new leadership program with SA SES and our focus was on stakeholder engagement for emergency service organisations. Unfortunately significant incident reviews around Australia have again highlighted the need for agencies to continually assess the efficacy of their stakeholder management processes. Scrutiny of agency responses during emergencies have demonstrated how inadequate communication and poor linkages with stakeholders have undermined effo...rts at critical phases. Unfortunately on occasion, the gaps and barriers to building those effective stakeholders relationships were known, or should have been known by the agency, prior to the emergency. click here to read more... https://www.acimsolutions.com.au/blogs.html
07.01.2022 Many thanks to the team at Western Water for the opportunity to work with members across the organisational service delivery spectrum. 2020 has certainly been a very difficult year for many in the community, particularly Victoria. It was great to be able to share some field based protective behaviours and practical communication strategies to support the team to continue working positively with a diverse range of stakeholders. If you are looking to support your teams to deal with difficult or challenging behaviours, please get in touch. #aggressivestakeholders #workhealthsafety #acimsolutions
05.01.2022 Federal Government Grants available: To all our colleagues who worked as emergency service workers through the 2019-2020 bushfires there is $16m in grant funding available that is specifically targeted at supporting the mental health of those teams and their families who were impacted. Check out the information at the link but if successful, this would be a great way for agencies to run tailored programs to really support those volunteers and paid staff. #emergencymanagement #volunteers #mentalhealth https://lnkd.in/gk2ss8V
02.01.2022 One of the silver linings of the last year has been the number of organisations (public and private) that have committed to developing and improving their incident management capacity. This year we have worked with many different organisations as part of both nationally accredited and tailored short course programs. The focus has been on continuing to build confidence and capability in those team members entrusted with the significant responsibilities associated with managin...g emergency and crisis incidents. The processes and conduct of IMT’s have never been more scrutinised and these teams are often accountable to a wide range of stakeholders. For those reasons alone, building the skills of those undertaking those roles has never been more important. www.acimsolutions.com.au #incidentmanagement #acimsolutions
