19.01.2022 Special notice to all Aussie Optical Dispensers ..... The President of the ADONZ Vineet chauhan cordially invites you to attend the Annual Dispensing Opticians conference of the ADONZ in beautiful Queenstown next year. Why not join with your optical colleagues across the ditch for some quality CPD, networking opportunities and enjoy the spectacular mountain scenery of Queenstown and it’s gorgeous surrounds. Friday October 29 - Sunday October 31, 2021, and includes the AC...OD Graduation Event on the Friday evening. So come on Aussies, with a bit of luck our borders will be open and we’ll be on for a hoot of a weekend Sure - they’ll give us heaps about the rugby, but we’ll give em heaps about everything else. And together we’ll toast the come back our industry is experiencing after the last year. 18.01.2022 Reaching out to all employers...... have you now secured your 50 %wages subsidy (The Boost BAC Program) for your eligible optical assistant employees? If so, congratulations, you and hundreds of employers are now locked in for this massive financial support If not - why not??? ... Hundreds of employers are now registered for it, and the program is still open and available. It is not closed yet (as some are thinking). It is not like the Job Maker program, which is far less supportive (and which some of you were mislead to consider instead of Boost) And it includes outstanding training for The Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing, HLT47815. Contact James or Chedy at ACOD ASAP if you need any more info, and employees simply register on the college website! So come on, get on board quick before this program is oversubscribed and closed

18.01.2022 A message from ACOD to all of our students around Australia and New Zealand. We would like to assure all current and future students that we are watching the developing situation in the Northern Beaches of Sydney very closely, and that student safety and course progress are always priority. Just like throughout 2020, ACOD will investigate and implement appropriate contingency planning where necessary, and you can continue with your course. If our in person, face to face Work...shop 1s in February and March are affected guess what....... we are ready to easily switch them to online. We love our face to face workshops, we would be disappointed not to meet you for it in person, but we did it at times in 2020 and they actually worked really well, all things considered! So everyone - we have got this covered together, and we will work with you through 2021 towards your professional goals and towards your all important optical dispensing qualification. We just need to ensure all of our Sydney based teachers (looking at you James and Chedy) stay well behaved and safe indoors until the coast is clear again. And as always - please feel free to contact your teachers any time.

05.01.2022 Congratulations to our ACOD Melbourne based optical dispensing class who have now completed all their practical and workshop assessments and are now about to course complete. This group of students have shown amazing commitment and staying power to make it through the long COVID effected year they have had. Long lock downs, workshops shifted to online, uncertainty and stress. Congratulations to each one of you and good luck for your dispensing careers
