24.01.2022 Did you know as a part of our National regulations we are required to practice our emergency drills every 3 months. This month Miss Jessie has conducted a number of emergency drills including fire evacuations and lockdown procedures. All staff and children did an amazing job and were able to respond quickly and without any panic. Great Job Team Acorn !!

23.01.2022 So this week we recognized International Nurses Day on Wednesday 12th May. The children at Acorn had some discussions with their educators on how our nurses support us each and every day. As a lot of our Kindy children are turning 4 this year they remember having a lovely nurse give them their 4 year old vaccinations. Others mentioned "helping us feel better when we are sick" and "Check ups". Acorn recognizes the important role our nurses play within our community not just this week but every week. Thank you to all of our HARD WORKING nurses

22.01.2022 The Road Scholars enjoying celebratory icecream after winning the Acorn stepping challenge. They completed the 1,980,000 steps from Darwin to Alice Springs ahea...d of four other competing teams from Acorn East. 21.01.2022 Another awesome community contribution from our Amazing Acorn Educators. Miss Delwyn, our Music teacher, kindly dropped off all of our remaining cot mattress' and unused sheets and blankets to our local Red Collar Rescue Group. I am positive some of the recipients would be very grateful especially during these colder mornings. 19.01.2022 A huge WELCOME to our new Educational Leader Launa. Launa has been in the early childhood industry for the past 13 years and brings with her a vast array of experience. Some of you may recognize Launa as she was previously a member of the Acorn East team before stepping into a Directors position elsewhere. Now we are lucky enough to have her back with us sharing all of her knowledge, wisdom and passion. Launa is a mum to 4 beautiful children with her newest edition being only 5 months young. Launa has a real passion for community involvement and is very excited to be back on Team Acorn!!! We feel very fortunate to have Launa with us and although we are sharing her across both our services you will definitely be seeing her around the centre. Please say hi and welcome her to our fabulous team.

17.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day Today we are celebrating all of our wonderful mothers and those who undertake this precious role. We can't have our mum's come into our centre to celebrate today so we are sending a beautiful morning tea snack box with them on their way to work so they know we love and appreciate them.

14.01.2022 Stephen Bennett MP visited Acorn Child Care Centre to present our gorgeous little Erin, with her prize as the winner of the 'Timmy the Turtle' Cleaner Greener Competition. Erin won herself a gift pack full of art supplies and we received own very own worm farm! The children absolutely loved putting it together and talking about how our worm farm will work and produce worm wee for our plants to grow strong and healthy. We were also presented with the perpetual Cleaner Greener turtle trophy which is displayed in our foyer. A huge thank you to Erin for creating such a wonderful masterpiece and to Stephen Bennett MP for sharing this opportunity with the children of Bundaberg.

03.01.2022 We have recently upgraded all of our cots in our 0-2 rooms with a more ergonomic and compact range and have donated all of our existing cots to the Angels Community Group. If you are looking for a cot or know someone who maybe in need of one please send them down to there shop. We are also in the process of upgrading some equipment and furniture, so if any families know of any services in need of children's toys, clothing etc, please let us know.
