21.01.2022 Hi All, Pfaff EOFY Bonus sale & RSC Overlocker month 1st June to 30th June 2020 A search of fashion history tells us the overlock machine (aka serger) was developed during the 1870s. Today it is the perfect companion to your sewing machine. Originally developed as a method for finishing off the tops of socks and other knitwear, the machine is also used for sewing with small seam allowances. It sews a seam and seam finish simultaneously as it trims away the excess seam allo...wance. It is an absolutely fantastic time saver producing the professional finish you crave for with your fabric creations without the heartache of doing French seams. Truly what more can you ask for Well now that you ask...how about during the month of June with the purchase of your new Pfaff 720 or 630 or ? sewing machine comes a complimentary Pfaff overlocker to boot. Now about this Pfaff Expression 720. We are offering our 2 month old demonstration machine for sale. The demonstration sale price is $3990 (RRP $5290). Just a reminder too that this week is the last week of the Pfaff Mother’s Day Catalogue Sale. Keep well and stay safe from all the team at Ripley Sewing Centre.

16.01.2022 Hi All, What a week this last one has been. Only time will tell. Our thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with her at this critical time. ... On the home front: Often wondered what to do with all those little scraps of beautiful fabric you have in your stash. Wonder no more!!! Just think...why not make cooking and baking more fun with custom pot holders made especially from these bits. S-E-W simple really as Gracey Larson suggests in her recent book Patchwork Picnic: Simple to piece blocks that celebrate the outdoors. This book is jammed pack of wonderful suggestions that you could make for yourself or as gifts for someone special. S-E-W from all the team, until next we chat, keep well and stay safe.

13.01.2022 Hi All, "I'm on My Way" is a song by Scottish folk pop duo The Proclaimers for their 1988 album Sunshine on Leith. As the lyrics of this song goes s-e-w too are we on our way. Below is a pictorial representation of what our updated activities schedule includes. The more detailed description of each activity will soon be advertised on all three social media platforms we use as part of Ripley Sewing Centre. Here is a hint of what is to come. Today being Thursday will see two a...ctivities. Our morning session titled Serge with Deb focuses on overlockers and what benefits they offer to their owners. In the afternoon Oh s-e-w young gives participants opportunities to learn and create projects for the young and young at heart in a fun environment. Both Marie and Deb spent some time today designing our first Thursday afternoon activity A home-grown Tote bag. Just have a look at the Tote bag incorporating an appliqued duck head. Just duckie if you ask me!! Did you know that they are called tote bags because in the 17th century the tote or tate was used to refer ‘to carry’ or ‘to bear’. With gradual usage and improvement and innovations, the current shape of bags came into being. Today, tote bags are popular for their sturdiness, ease in carrying, comfort and style enhancement. Just think what you could stuff into one of these when you go visiting during the coming school holidays. Not quite sure if one of the new found dinosaur bones would fit actually!! S-E-W until next we chat stay safe and keep well from all the team at Ripley Sewing Centre

11.01.2022 Hi All, As Australia celebrates Father’s Day today, we believe it is most appropriate to acknowledge all those who fulfill the role and responsibilities of, together with all that one experiences with, being Dad in someone’s life. Fit to Flatter workshop postponed. We recently held a discussion with Lindsay about postponing our planned workshop set down for the weekend of 19th / 20th of September. In light of the continued uncertainty and unpredictability of the CoVid s...ituation, and to err on the side of caution, we jointly agreed to postpone until either late 2020 or early 2021. Stay tuned to our future chats for news of the new workshop weekend date. We have also been working on setting up our boutique sewing centre facility and have attached a couple of photos of our hard work. We were able to use the two-tier double-sided stands for both the fabrics we carry for our projects as well as display of some of the Pfaff machines we carry and are available for purchase. Pretty groovy really!!! Best wishes for the start of your week everyone - stay positive - from all the team at Ripley Sewing Centre.

07.01.2022 Thank you for your feedback, Clair. Hi, my name is Clair, I recently had a lesson with Joanne from Ripley Sewing Centre on some of the many different stitches on my Pfaff 720. I can now use my machine to it’s full extent thanks to Joanne.
