23.01.2022 We recently went on a tour through one of Melbourne's last waste recycling centers after the demise of SKM. Its owned and run by Visy and they take all types of recycling material and re-purpose it through their own packaging manufacturing processes. sadly it only process around 10% of Melbourne's waste collected from the curbside recycling system. They process 380 tonnes per day of recycling waste! 17.01.2022 This time next week the Australia Parliament is expected to vote on the Recycling and Waste Reduction Bill 2020 - national legislation that seeks to tackle our ...nation’s growing waste problem. This new Bill will ban the export of waste but doesn’t include any legislative tools to stop the growing prevalence of plastic in our community or the environment.
