23.01.2022 KNOWLEDGE IN CHRIST

23.01.2022 KNOWLEDGE IN CHRIST Often, we don’t hear about the saints who taught us through example as so many have. Their works sometimes go unnoticed by us, but their prayers are never unheard by God. Saint Lazarus the Wonderworker is an example of a saint and an ascetic who glorified God by his life. May we learn to do so also and pray for his intercessions. In thy vigilant prayers, thou didst drench thy pillar with streams of tears; by thy sighings from the depths, thou didst bear fruit a hundredfold in labours; and thou becamest a shepherd, granting forgiveness to them that came to thee, O our righteous Father Lazarus. Intercede with Christ God that our souls be saved.

06.01.2022 ACOY NSW St. John Chrysostom Day Retreat IS BACK!! Theme: LIVING ON A PRAYER Date: 14th November 2021 Where: Online via MS Teams ... Registration fee: $20 The retreat will focus on the question of how we connect with God through prayer. Given the tumultuous times that we have been living in through the past couple of years, we have been forced to be away from our spiritual homes and prayer is all that we have had to rely on. As St. John Chrysostom says: Prayer is the light of the soul and if we are generous in giving time to prayer, we will experience it’s benefits throughout our life. Therefore, now more than ever, it is important that we as Orthodox Christians know the Orthodox way of prayer to equip us through navigating through spiritual growth in today’s society, after all prayer is the direct link between God and ourselves. Register at https://bit.ly/3zuEyrv now!

03.01.2022 KNOWLEDGE IN CHRIST DID YOU KNOW that St Paisios was the first saint to visit Australia in 1977? Saint Paisios is one of the most beloved modern saints in the Orthodox world because he was able to speak to us in contemporary language, using simple analogies that communicated deep spiritual wisdom.... Central to Elder Paisios’ spiritual life were the virtues of love, humility, and sacrifice. Depicted in his icon is a scroll in his hand which contains one of his well-known sayings, Love and humility are the frequency in which God works meaning that we should turn the dial of our heart to the frequency of love and humility, so that God can work in us. #antiochianaus #ACOYNSW #KnowledgeinChrist
