25.01.2022 Attention ROMPS: The ACPSEM is undertaking the ROMP Workforce Modelling Project and keen to work with the College Members and Radiation Oncology Centres in determining ROMP workforce needs now in Australia and New Zealand and into the future. This Project model is based on contextualisation of the IAEA model, including a patient focus, taking into account the complexity of treatments delivered, centre location and management arrangements in place. This presentation will focus on modern methods to standardize the dosimetry of brachytherapy sources, from the primary standards used for calibration to the dosimetry formalism used to characterize the three-dimensional dose distribution surrounding the sources.

07.01.2022 Congratulations to ACPSEM Member Dr Dilli Banjade who has been appointed as the Director of Medical Physics at the Central West Cancer Care Centre (CWCCC) in Orange, where Dilli and his team recently implemented new SABR treatments and increased the utilisation of IMRT/VMAT techniques in this regional centre. We wish Dr Banjade further success in his new role.

02.01.2022 Reminder - the DIR challenge closes on 30 Nov! The ACPSEM Medical Image Registration Special Interest Group (MIRSIG) are hosting the Deformable Image Registration (DIR) Challenge. The challenge involves performing a DIR between pre-and post-radiotherapy images for two nasopharyngeal cancer patients who received radiotherapy with curative intent. The aim is to look at and assess the variation in DIR results across different departments. One participant will be randomly selected to win a $200 prize! Get your entry in now.
