CLOSE MODAL A bush fire is burning in the area of Kildare Rd, Tenterfield and is out of control. Current Situation The fire is burning in the vicinity of Kildare Rd west of Tenterfield. The fire is moving in an easterly direction towards Tenterfield under strong westerly winds. Advice Residents in the areas of Four Mile Creek Road, Holleys Road, Mount McKenzie Road, Finnertys, Neagles Lane, Sunnyside Loop Road and Smiths Lane should take advice from firefighters on the ground and take shelter when the fire arrives and protect yourself from the heat of the fire. Monitor conditions in your area. Under strong winds, embers may be blown ahead of the fire front, creating spot fires. These spot fires may threaten your home earlier than the predicted main fire front.

10.01.2022 CATASTROPHIC FIRE DANGER GREATER SYDNEY, GREATER HUNTER, ILLAWARRA/SHOALHAVEN The fire danger tomorrow is now expected to be worse than originally forecast. T...he Illawarra Shoalhaven is now forecast to experience a Catastrophic fire danger. This means Catastrophic fire danger is now expected in the Greater Sydney, Greater Hunter and Illawarra Shoalhaven areas. These conditions are very dangerous. If you are in the path of a fire in these conditions, your life will be at risk. Avoid bushland areas. Safer locations may include large centres, such as towns or cities well away from bushland areas. If you are unable to leave, identify a safer location in case a fire starts. This may include a Neighbourhood Safer Place. Emergency Alert telephone warnings will not be sent to tell you about the fire danger. Warnings will continue to be issued for bush fires. Stay up to date on bush fires in your area by listening to local radio, through the RFS website, through social media and the Fires Near Me NSW app.

04.01.2022 WOMAN MISSING FROM LAKE MACQUARIE FOUND UPDATE 11/10 10.30am Skye Conway has been found safe and well in Cooranbong.... EARLIER 10/10 Lake Macquarie Police are asking for the public's help to locate a woman missing from Cooranbong. 37-year-old Skye Conway has been staying with family who say she left last night but hasn't returned. Police say she hasn't been in touch with family or friends and there are concerns for her welfare. She's described as Caucasian, with a thin build, blonde hair, brown eyes and was last seen wearing a black singlet and grey track pants. Ms Conway is also known to have connections in the Cronulla area in Sydney's south. Anyone who has seen Skye or knows of her whereabouts is urged to contact police.

02.01.2022 THE INSURANCE COUNCIL OF AUSTRALIA DECLARES RAPPVILE FIRE A CATASTROPHE The Insurance Council of Australia has declared a bushfire Catastrophe for properties... damaged or destroyed in northern New South Wales. Today's Catastrophe declaration is for the area around the Rappville community and fires in the Busby Flat and Drake areas. Residents affected by fire are being urged to contact their insurance providers quickly. Head of I-C-A, Rob Whelan says a Catastrophe declaration means claims from the affected areas will be given priority by insurers. He says primary producers can euthanise critically injured animals without being visited by an assessor but must have appropriate records for any insurance claim. It's the second such declaration for the region in five weeks.
