22.01.2022 ACROYALI are proud to be apart of some alterations and additions @ The Grounds Alexandria - The Linseed House... Some complicated Structural Engineering with some heavy-duty, controlled structural demolition; some walls 4 layers thick!!!... Due to the heritage status of the building, careful Engineering tactics had to be designed by ACROYALI which required a great deal of precision. All these structural requirements where effectively and efficiently executed by the building project team PROSTRUCT. Bookings for the first wedding functions have already been made and the PROSTRUCT team are on track to deliver project completion on time!! @ The Grounds of Alexandria...

22.01.2022 PRICELESS VIEW - Princes Ave Vaucluse project coming along nicely! So many intricate details and with the limits of physics being pushed architecturally, this residential project required over 50 x A3 structural plans of associated details!! Top Slab pour last week with the reinforcement inspected and confirmed!!

21.01.2022 INNOVATION... Not everything is text book.. client was struggling with how to get this 900kg tree column in place without a crane... so we went back to ancient methods and design - the tripod with telescopic adjustments! The result - perfection! Clients feedback:... 890kg hardwood tree cranked into place today as the centre roof post in this earth bag hobbit studio wr building. The tripod rocked!! 10pm drawn, to 1am engineered, to 2pm laser cut plates welded together to installing a tree less than 36 hours after the invention was dreamed up. Its a good team effort!! Thankyou ACROYALI team

21.01.2022 KYLE BAY PROGRESS SHOTS! Looking amazing!!

21.01.2022 Bundeena project under way!

21.01.2022 Something special.... engineering masterpiece that mimics the waves of the ocean which truely defines this beautiful area #coogee

20.01.2022 Cantilever kings! This time it isn't a cantilevered concrete slab, but a cantilevered steel staircase at our project in Haymarket!

19.01.2022 Mansion in Strathfield - iterating through the design to try and find the most economical slab framing! This photo is an exaggerated view of how one of our slabs will deform

18.01.2022 1 Hastings Parade Bondi Beach One of the council requirements for this project was to maintain this heritage facade. Although it would be easier to knock down and rebuild, Acroyali have teamed up with K2 build and Coates Hire to develop a temporary propping solution until the new slabs within are constructed. Watch this space!

18.01.2022 Dealing with existing can be difficult.. transferring the loads for this two storey development ON TOP of a 5 storey existing commercial building was a difficult feat to justify.. but we have managed to achieve this to satisfy our clients desires without the need for strengthening of the lower floors. Skilled placement and positioning of columns and supports allowed for the natural transfer of loads through the existing slab.. PROSTRUCT have done a fantastic job ensuring these high level structural details have been achieved

17.01.2022 Princes Ave Vaucluse coming along nicely. And not a bad view if I say so myself... Form and function in perfect unison pushing all the boundaries of structural design

16.01.2022 1 Courland St Randwick Sometimes we need to listen to our builder and their concerns in order to overcome latent site conditions.. this at times involves a combination of structural systems in a non-traditional manner. A piered raft slab on ground was originally designed here.... When excavation commenced, the sandy site was found to be very soft and therefore the soil maintaining its form whilst excavating thickenings would prove to be near impossible.... Traditionally in this scenario a builder would need to form up the thickenings... But with some thought, we redesigned the slab and suggested that the builder rather than form up the thickenings, excavate down to the bottom of the thickening RL and instead, Infill the spaces in-between with lightweight void formers. By designing the slab suspended between thickenings the waffles served purely as formwork rather than internal ribs which is traditionally required for waffle slab construction. In short a hybrid raft-waffle solution was engineered. By also eliminating the piers and adopting screw piles, not only did we end up developing a more cost efficient solution, but one that also cut back construction time by 2 weeks! What initially appeared on site to be a negative discovery (uncompacted sandy soil); with the right Engineer and in-depth thought, turned out to be a blessing in disguise; with client/builder/architect all satisfied with the efficient/cost effective and Structurally satisfactory outcome! Some may not realise the importance of having the right Engineer on board. Most people only build their dream home once. It is imperative that you have an Engineer whom has the perfect balance of imagination, lateral-thinking, and technical capabilities and experience in order to achieve an optimum and cost efficient and desirable outcome!

14.01.2022 Modelling this transfer slab for this 5 storey residential project in Guildford! Post tensioning masterpiece #acroyali

13.01.2022 Getting out of the ground at Concord! Mass excavation complete and now preparing the basement slab!

12.01.2022 Engineering abroad @kandiahouse Greece! Provided our engineering services detailing this new hydrostatic slab to resist water pressure as a result of the basement being 1m below sea level and right next to the beach! Unfortunately the finished product had to be demolished and redone but the result is a fully water tight system! A jointless waterproof slab which has no signs of moisture since completion a month ago... now time for finishes... last photo shows it’s proximity to the beach... Not a bad view either :)

12.01.2022 From structural design to reality.. 25mm thick glass still to come

11.01.2022 It’s always great to receive positive feedback! Great work by Prometal!!

10.01.2022 This is why we do what we do! Unbelievably perfect outcome for our client @ 14 Princes Ave Vaucluse! Perfect design leads to perfect outcome A-TEAM #Xpace Architects #Acroyali Engineers

09.01.2022 Cantilever Tuesdays

09.01.2022 Although this cantilevered balcony is almost completely dilapidated, and reinforcement exposed and corroded, its because of the reinforcement within the concrete that the structure still remains sufficiently ductile to bend as much as it has without complete failure... we can learn a lot from failed structures #thepowerofreo

08.01.2022 https://vimeo.com/449948137/1fee7a4628 Great design! Great outcome! #Acroyali

06.01.2022 When Architecture and Engineering are in unison... NDRSN’s vision forged with ACROYALI’s ingenuity equating to a truely inspiring outcome! #glasshouse

05.01.2022 7 Clarendon St Vaucluse Concrete carport with only three points of support! Complex challenges overcome yet again by intricate Engineering

04.01.2022 Acroyali to the rescue. Following a horrific car accident late last night which damaged several structural components, we were called up to provide make safe and remedial advice.

02.01.2022 Structural Engineering precision: Utilising a 5.5m roof Cantilver as a counterweight beam against a 3.5m first floor Cantilver to minimise deflections.. looks like it’s floating in the air! The calculations required precise dead weights and millimetre accurate bracing positions to work affectively...

02.01.2022 1 Courland St Randwick Sometimes it’s the streamline architectural designs which present the most complex of strucutral solutions.... Client and builder was adamant for a lightweight solution whilst the architect was adamant on having a first floor 4m corner Cantilver with no supports below!!... Solution here required us to think way outside the square! To compensate for lack of supports below, we developed a solution which transferred loads through various braces hidden in walls above!! Adopting what is typically conceptual used for awning design, we were able to structurally justify the first floor as lightweight. Behind every great architectural design there’s an even greater structural Engineer making it happen.
