11.01.2022 Congratulations to local FM and IA Shaun Press on his massive outright second place at the Oceania Zonal held in Guam last week representing Papua New Guinea. An enormous effort! Shows that arbiters can still (occasionally) play good chess He will be the Chief Arbiter of the ACT Championship next week so you can congratulate him there Also congratulations to local junior Albert Winkelman who has just been awarded the ACF Arlauskas Medal for the Under 16 Australian Player of the Year. Albert has been getting home schooled so he is able to travel and focus on his chess development, and has ratings and results have showed the dedication he has put into the game.
