23.01.2022 From today, all mineral mine and quarry workers exposed to respiratory hazards will require mandatory respiratory health checks, paid for by their employer. Each worker will have a chest X-ray that is read by at least two qualified radiologists and a lung function test on entry into the industry and at least once every five years. 06.01.2022 Sean has been in the mining industry for over 10 years, and a trainer for over 8 years. We asked him why he chose to move to the training sector. This was his answer. I chose to move into the training sector due to the lack of skilled trainers. I’m tired of reading about on site incidents that could’ve been avoided with correct procedures. The industry needs more trainers who currently work in the industry and can pass on their knowledge and experience. And I feel ...it’s an important factor when upskilling or learning a new trade in the career you desire.
