18.01.2022 2020 BMXA National Championships Cancelled

18.01.2022 Sydney State Series Round 4 Good morning members Last night, BMXNSW became aware of a letter written to community sporting organisations by a NSW Government Off...icial, a copy of the letter and FAQS is attached for your awareness. Whilst the NSW Government does not intend to formalise these requests in the NSW Public Health Order, as the state governing body for BMX in NSW, we have a moral obligation to cooperate with these requests whilst they are in place. As indicated in the letter, this is likely to be for the next 6 weeks, effective from tomorrow. As such, we wish to advise our members that the Sydney event scheduled for this Sunday is cancelled. We will communicate further with you on the process for obtaining refunds. BMXNSW will also be convening an urgent meeting this week to consider impact of the increased restrictions on the NSW State Championships scheduled for 2,3 & 4 October. We understand that this decision will be disappointing for many of our members and we thank you for your patience as we navigate these unprecedented times. Anyone that has been part of a committee at club level will understand the extraordinary effort that Sydney BMX have put in to host this event. Let's see lots of positivity in the comments by thanking Sydney BMX for their efforts. Stellar effort, Sydney! https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au//CHO%20Letter%20to%20Communit https://www.sport.nsw.gov.au//CHO%20Letter%20FAQs%20-%2017 Kind regards BMXNSW

16.01.2022 Please have a read of the attached document released by Sport & Recreation regarding the impacts of latest NSW restrictions on ACT sporting organisations and activities. At this stage our decision stands on attending any known hotspots however we are assessing this on a constant basis. We are in negotiations with NSWBMX in trying to setup covid safe zones to allow rider to race at different tracks within their zones.... We will endeavour to keep you all up to date as developments occur. Canberra BMX Club Tuggeranong Vikings BMX Club

15.01.2022 Following the Canberra BMX Club's boards tough decision ACT BMX would like to show our support and reaffirm what the Canberra club has put forward. Yes we understand that the timing isn't great and yes we understand the frustration of this decision however it has been made for the greater good of club members, the BMX community and more importantly the Canberra community as a whole. We would like to stress the importance of following the advise from the ACT Government and ...encourage that all our members remain vigilant in their fight against COVID-19, remain patient and avoid any non essential travel to known hot spots, yes this includes Penrith as it is part of the Sydney region. We would also ask that you be honest when answering the questionnaires by the clubs that go through all the COVID-19 screening questions, these are there for the protection of us all. In the end it is up to each individual member to make their own choice where and what events they attend however it is our responsibility to ensure we are looking out for the BMX community as a whole therefore if it is known that you have been to one of these areas you are NOT to attend any club (Yes that covers both Canberra clubs) sanctioned events for at least 14 days. We will keep an eye on the ACT Governments website for any updates and will endeavour to keep you informed with any changing developments. We would like to thank all members for their patients and understanding to date during these tough times and look forward to your continued support.

12.01.2022 Just a reminder. We would like to reaffirm that the below decision is still in place. Any riders who choose to attend the next round of the NSW State Series will not be able to attend any club sanctioned events for 14 days following the event. Yes this ban will be enforced to those who attend any other known hot spots.... Again this is for the protection of the ACT BMX community and Canberra as a whole. Thank you for your patients and understanding. Canberra BMX Club Tuggeranong Vikings BMX Club

11.01.2022 Today is R U OK Day? 2020 has been a difficult year for so many parts of the community, thus it's important to reach out and ask the people around you how they are going! A simple conversation can go a long way.... R U OK Day #RUOKDay

10.01.2022 2020 ACT BMX Championships - CANCELLED We regret to inform you that this year's ACT Championships has been cancelled due to the current COVID19 conditions and travel restrictions in place between states and with no sign of this changing in the near future, this year's event is not viable to run. We understand the disappointment for the riders and their families however we must consider the health and safety of the bmx community as a whole.... What is important at this time is the members and families take care, stay safe and focus on the current government guidelines so we can beat this pandemic and get back to doing what we all love, racing! Thank you for your understanding and support during these unprecedented times. Canberra BMX Club Tuggeranong Vikings BMX Club

08.01.2022 2020 TRANS TASMAN TEST TEAM NZ LEG - CANCELLED Dear Members of BMXNSW, BMXNZ and BMXA, We find ourselves still in difficult times and we hope that the members o...f BMXNSW, BMXNZ and BMXA are staying safe and practicing all the required health directives so we can all work towards containing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic that is currently affecting not only both our Countries but so many others worldwide. Due to the current conditions, travel restrictions and quarantine requirements in place between Australia and New Zealand and with no sign of this changing in the near future, both BMXNSW and BMXNZ Associations find ourselves with no alternative but to cancel the New Zealand Leg of the Trans-Tasman Test Team event set down for October 2020. We believe it is in the best interests of the parents, riders and Associations to make a call on this now, so there is minimised effect on those involved, as we anticipate no likely change in these Trans Tasman restrictions for 3-6 months as per the Government communications. Both BMXNSW and BMXNZ make this decision with a heavy heart and we understand and feel the disappointment for the riders and their families, but we also must consider the health and safety of the riders first and foremost. What is important at this time is the members and families of BMXNSW, BMXNZ and BMXA take care, stay safe and focus on the required health directives so we can beat this pandemic and then get back to putting on great events and experiences for our members. Yours Sincerely, Board of BMXNSW and Board of BMXNZ

05.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT 2020 BMXNSW State Championships-change of location. Members, Covid 19 has presented Hawkesbury BMX Club and BMXNSW with some challenges in deli...vering the BMXNSW State Championships at the Hawkesbury BMX track. As a result, we are unable to hold the Championships at Hawkesbury. This outcome does not reflect the hours expended by Hawkesbury BMX Club and BMXNSW in trying to come to an arrangement with Hawkesbury Sports Council. We thank Hawkesbury BMX for all their efforts, not just in trying to get this event over the line, but for the work they have put in over the course of this year in preparing to host the event. So, the question you will all be wanting an answer to is ...Where will the 2020 BMXNSW State Championships be held? Stay tuned! We are in the final stages of enacting the new arrangements and getting ready to open entries. This will happen by the end of this week. The reason we are communicating advice regarding the location change in two parts is to allow members to cancel accommodation in Hawkesbury and to get prepared for entries to open! Kind regards BMXNSW

01.01.2022 Our Canberra BMX Club has closed their track! Please respect their decision and do not enter until advised track is again open!
