24.01.2022 It's the final week of the 8 week course "Acting for Grown Ups." It's been a very interesting term- with AFG original cast members Bree, Ryan, Brett, Bronwyn, Kelly, Ken and Joelle joining forces with new kids on the block Kate, Katie, Nicola, Terry, Jeanette, Shirley and Helan to create a unique and dynamic ensemble. The term has been rich and varied with guest lecturers Peter Trist (Allegro Theatre) and Steve Pasvolsky (Skystone Films) making cameos to work with the student...s in script interpretation and acting for the camera respectively. The students worked on a longer/original script called "The Gateway"- a drama set in Wickham about intertwining characters, all living with their own secrets, lies and quirks. Over several weeks the students developed their characters through improvisations and extended scenes I wrote. We rehearsed the scenes and then Steve filmed them in Weeks 5 & 6- stay tuned...these scenes will be uploaded in the next couple of weeks! Last week we focused on developing our Improvisational Skills- and tonight we will focus on Industry Information and Professional Conduct and Preparing for Auditions. A big thanks to my students for this term and to Peter and Steve for their different perspectives to performance. Claire xx See more

09.01.2022 Hi Everybody- I'm just chasing up payment for Term 1 from a couple of people- if you could message me today that would be great. I need to have everything sorted for next class. Best wishes, Claire :)
04.01.2022 Hi all our Term 1 film project "The Gateway" will be up and running on FB this week- apologies for the delay- the camera we shot on belongs to Barbie (thank you Bree Cunningham) and we just found it this week! Yay!!! Stay tuned for our original Aussie drama set in Newie ....
02.01.2022 Last night was the first class of Level 1 & 2, "Acting for Grown Ups" 8 Week Course. What a great night! Level 2 students Joelle, Bree, Bronwyn, Kelly, Ryan, Ken and Brett welcomed newcomers Kate, Nicola, Katie, Terry, Jeanette, Helan and Shirley to our Thursday night group. We began with some games- information speed "dating", zip zap zop, bippity bippity bop, grandmothers footsteps and "catch my name". We then moved into our Voice and Movement studies followed by scene work... and presentations. We saw some great performances from the students last night, with scenes from "Grand Canyon", "Sex, Lies and Videotape", "Love Serenade", ""Good Will Hunting", and "Hannah and Her Sisters". Next week's class will involve the Level 2 students working on a play building exercise- working towards a long term, full length performance and Level 1 developing their core performance skills, developing a greater sense of confidence as performers. Have a great week! cx See more
