25.01.2022 A study has found that the melting of ice across the planet is "accelerating at a record rate, with the melting of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets speeding up the fastest. Between 1994 and 2017, the rate of ice loss accelerated by a whopping 65%.
24.01.2022 On Wednesday morning, a humpback whale calf became entangled in a shark net off Mooloolaba Beach, with their mother swimming nearby until rescuers were able to set the calf free. Then, less than 48 hours later, another calf became entangled in a shark net off Noosa and remained trapped overnight before being freed this morning. This is the FOURTH whale to become entangled in Queensland's shark nets this migration season alone. It's time to remove these death traps once and for all. #SayNoToTheNets

22.01.2022 Just days after 1,428 Atlantic white-sided dolphins were killed during the Faroe Islands’ grindadráp hunt a couple weeks ago, a further 52 pilot whales were slaughtered. This slaughter comes after the Faroe Islands government said it would review regulations of the hunts after the backlash received from the mass dolphin killing.

21.01.2022 Taiji Update: LIA reports that on Sunday October 3rd, eight young Risso’s dolphins were driven into the cove, where seven of them were mercilessly slaughtered for their meat. The smallest dolphin was then driven back out to sea, traumatised and completely alone. Thankfully today (Oct 5th), hunters returned empty-handed. #StopTheToxicSale

19.01.2022 Really excited to see our #HandFeedingHurts bus shelter ads now up on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island) in Queensland! They are located near both ferry terminals and at Amity Point, where the illegal and harmful hand-feeding of wild dolphins occurs. These ads will run for a minimum of three months. We hope it will educate tourists of the harmful impacts of feeding wild dolphins, which includes aggression, patrolling, and begging and increases the risk of fishing gear entanglements and boat collisions.
18.01.2022 Very rare footage of dugongs mating was captured off the coast of Yeppoon, Queensland. This is significant as it could mean the declining and vulnerable population are making a come-back!

11.01.2022 Taiji Update: Yesterday (Jan 30th), hunters drove a pod of bottlenose dolphins, including many juveniles, into the cove. Hunters and dolphin trainers then began the distressing captive selection process, where nine dolphins were ultimately deemed pretty enough to be taken for captivity, and the rest of the exhausted pod was driven back out to sea. Today, Life Investigation Agency reports that hunters found a small family of striped dolphins - and slaughtered every member.... #ActNowCITES #StopTheBloodbath See more
