25.01.2022 The rise of touring car racing, how an off-road tragic become an on-road gun, the move from foam to rubber tyres, winning Nats by finding the setup first....it's all here as we go back in time with Victoria's Andrew Abbott in this week's Action R/C podcast (warning: we did sneak into the 2000's in this one!). https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-au6qx-dfdd40

24.01.2022 This week in the podcast we talk to a guy who might just be one of the most accomplished and versatile racers of his generation. From his start in the late 80's, racing through the Stock ranks and all the hard work that goes into 'overnight' success, chasing competition into different categories, national titles tyre games and more. Join me for a chat down history lane with Sydney's 10-time national champ Ari Bakla https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-zat55-de5074

24.01.2022 The podcast is out early this week for a special treat - because this is one chat not to miss. My guest today was a ten year old with a Sand Scorcher and a dream, who would go on to win a couple of National Champs, race all over the world, pull epic pranks, go behind the scenes at factory World Champs preparations and build a global business with the help of family and friends. It was great to chat with Sydney's Andrew Bolton, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Apologies for a few little audio glitches early on. https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-xi639-e20ec6

22.01.2022 One of the things I'm enjoying about recording this podcast series is just how different every conversation is. Today it's Queenslanders Darren Perry and Steve Perry for a tour through their R/C history. Five national titles and about 60 years experience between them (does that make you feel old gents! ;) ). We get into all sorts of stories - the origins of Ozcharge, the first ever National Champs for EP stadium trucks, brotherly rivalry, and why you should never join Steve Perry on a road trip in his L300 van. Hit the link below or find 'Action R/C' on Spotify or Apple Podcasts. Enjoy the chat! https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-qscnd-dbeff0

20.01.2022 I can "almost" guarantee that you're going to love tomorrow's episode of the Action R/C podcast. So many great stories both from Australia and beyond our shores. Editing now, released around 7am tomorrow.

20.01.2022 A 2wd PB Mini-Mustang? Running amok in the local shopping centre? More importantly...more than three decades of Aus R/C history as we explore the Reade family dynasty through the eyes of Andrew and Chris...two of Australia's best nitro on-road racers and sons of the legendary Rob Reade. Hope you enjoy this episode of the Action R/C podcast as much as I did. https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-3rsc5-e16c01

19.01.2022 The Qld 10EP Onroad Titles are only 3 weeks away and only a week left to get YOUR entry in, should be a great weekend, the track is being prepared with the cracks all filled and a totally new surface applied. I've decided to compete in TC3 and I'm saying it's my last Qld Title event ( not my last club event, I'm not dead yet ). My car is an old Mi4 CX about 10 years old and my control motor is a few years old too but we're having a go. Come on you know you want to, fill out ...form and get ready. Link to entry form https://docs.google.com//1FAIpQLSdf1z8JTj7ktn0Ri/viewform See you there, Heavy.

18.01.2022 As a little treat, this week’s Action R/C podcast will be out early - we are hoping to publish Sunday morning. And it’s a ripper too - race wins, growing an R/C business, epic pranks, and a look inside a Worlds winning operation. Should be fun!

18.01.2022 My (Scott) 1993 Bosscat (original paint, stickers and all!) raced at Illawarra Nats, St Ives NSW Champs and Jimboomba Qld Champs just came home. Massive thanks to Brett. Can’t wait to clean and freshen up this bad boy.

17.01.2022 I’m rebuilding a 1994 Schumacher CAT 2000 at the moment, and chasing a few bits. If you have any of these kicking around and are willing to part with them let me know! - CAT 2000 or CAT3000 shocks (full set) - period Novak ESC - 410HPC, Hammer or Tempest - period Peak Performance or Twister or Extreme brushed modified motor... - period cells - ideally Sanyo 1700 SCRC Helpful if the electrics work, but not necessary, it’s mainly for display purposes. Cheers! Scott

15.01.2022 This week on the Action R/C podcast we go back.....way back, and explore something just a little different. The early-mid 1980's were such an incredible time in Australian off-road racing, and we explore the era and the characters through the stories of three 4wd buggies that in different ways made their mark on the period. Joining me for this chat is Mr Retro R/C Racer, Darryn Johnson. Enjoy! https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-pehjg-df1e4f

11.01.2022 It's not R/C, but it's our page right? ;) One of our Action R/C family members has released their first music on Spotify, apple music etc. Head over and give the Rutherford Jazz Trio a listen - a bunch of 18 year old lads having fun (if you don't like jazz...never fear....it's not jazz) https://open.spotify.com/artist/3vaXbepk1tDqpE7lcVau5h

09.01.2022 We were tempted to run this episode past legal before releasing...but lets live dangerously. Today our journey through Australian R/C history makes it to NSW where we join a racer who entered the 90's not yet a teenager, and exited them a three-time national champ (on his way to six in total). Enjoy the chat with Andrew Gillott. As usual, you can find us on spotify or apple podcasts by searching for Action R/C (or hit the link below). https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-ygz27-dc5eeb

08.01.2022 Tomorrow's podcast is in the can. Here's our guest - seen chatting with Andy Cooke. Who do you reckon it is? Bonus points for the year and race meeting. ;

08.01.2022 This week's episode of the Action R/C podcast not only goes right back to the 80's, but shifts gear to the hi-po world of nitro on-road racing. We explore national and world championships, local club and permanent race track development and some of the very biggest names in Australian R/C with four time National Champ Steve Burgess. Enjoy the chat! https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-5c6vv-dca3ed

08.01.2022 Episode 2 of our R/C history podcast series is up. This time we head west to explore the early 90's WA scene through the eyes of Ray Munday. Big races, mentors, travelling east, favourite cars, when to pull full throttle in a race car - it's all there. You can now subscribe or listen at Apple Podcast app, or Spotify (just search 'Action R/C' (Google podcast still to come). Enjoy. https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-bzbjd-dba788

06.01.2022 He's the first man on this podcast to name the Jet Hopper as his first R/C car, and has won more EP off-road Australian Champs in modified classes than anybody else....coincidence? This week's Action R/C podcast starts in the 80's, tours through the 90's and busts well into the 2000's to revisit the phenomenal career of Victoria's Matt Griffin. Enjoy! https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-2rt7r-e0b074

06.01.2022 "If it's got four wheels, it's meant to be raced", how to eat a hamburger, commentary disasters and the greatest Schumacher off-road buggy of all time. These topics and more today as Chris Lander takes over the Action R/C podcast reigns and checks in to explore the David "Heavy D" Guyatt and Scott Guyatt stories. The podcast is moving to a fortnightly schedule (thanks to the day-job being a little busy) and likely a Friday/Saturday release schedule. I'm still having fun with this so plan on continuing for a while....whose stories do you want to hear? https://actionrc.podbean.com/e/action-rc-s1e14-david-and-s/

05.01.2022 This week's podcast episode is a ripper. A story of origins (Keilor R/C club, velodrome and mini racing), a peak behind the curtains of Dirt & Track magazine, how to have a great time racing R/C and silly horsepower in a Mini. It's one of the genuine legends of our sport - Victoria's Tony Gray. Enjoy! https://actionrc.podbean.com/e/action-rc-s1e16-tony-gray/

03.01.2022 In this week's Action R/C podcast, we meet the man of a thousand R/C stories - from jumping up on a hobbyshop counter, a nats podium in a Tamiya Boomerang, good advice from Ayrton Senna, to tears of joy at a World Champs. Racer, photographer, filmmaker and one of our best known characters - it's Ray Wood (oh, and don't forget to head over to Ray's youtube channel raywoodrcvideos where he's regularly uploading fantastic R/C video). https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-fag8c-e3097e

01.01.2022 Through the 80's and early 90's 1/8th nitro offroad quietly did its thing in Australia - building a strong set of clubs, a determined racer culture and its own history before exploding in popularity toward the turn of the century. Six-time Australian Champ Nick Drygalla joins me for a chat through cars, tracks, the people who built the sport and how a rookie error can cost a national championship. Enjoy! https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-sbs7w-dd915d

01.01.2022 This week on the Action R/C podcast we're digging deep into the world of national level stock class racing in the 80's and 90's. From the challenges of building a fast stock-class car, meeting more of the legends of the sport, right through to how to read a rule book for all you're worth. Joining me is four-time Australian Champion, Victoria's Chris Marshall. Enjoy this chat! https://actionrc.podbean.com/e/action-rc-s1e15-chris-marsh/
