24.01.2022 I’m proud to sponsor the state bouldering titles. If you interested in entering the competition contact beyond bouldering or come along on the day to watch and support some of the nations best climbers.
22.01.2022 It’s never too late to start strength training. The myths that resistance training will make you bulky, is bad for your joints or that it’s only for the young are hard ones for society to forget. The truth is that properly designed strength training will make you more resilient to injury at any age, help you function properly in later life and can help with fat loss. If you’d like to know more contact me for a free strength and fitness assessment. https://www.facebook.com/734356952/posts/10156264501786953/
21.01.2022 With social media often giving us information overload its important to understand how much credibility to put into the posts you read. Heres a simple infographic to help you rate the level of evidence behind articles. https://ylmsportscience.com//understanding-the-hierarchy-/

19.01.2022 Hey Everyone. I wont be able to do the home strength training session tonight on ZOOM, but heres a link to a pre-recorded version if your keen to train on your own. https://www.dropbox.com/s/deu7yskiek4r2gc/zoom_0.mp4?dl=0 Apologies. See you next week
16.01.2022 I often get asked questions about protein intake. Theres a lot of conjecture around the optimal daily dose (grams per kilo of body mass), most reputable sources cite between 1-3g per kg dependant on physical activity levels. Something that comes up less often is making sure you take in all the essential amino acids. This is particularly important for vegetarians and vegans because most plant based proteins do not contain the complete range of essential amino acids that huma...ns need. This is where complimentary proteins come into play. Sunshine Coast dietetics do a great job of explaining how to ensure youre consuming a complete profile of essential amino acids. https://sunshinecoastdietetics.com.au/complementary-protei/

06.01.2022 With so many people at staying at home, I know many of you will be wondering how to stay strong and fit without access to your usual gym equipment. Ive thought a lot over the last few days about how I can support you. I know personally, if I cant workout daily the impact on my mental wellbeing is obvious. ... Exercise is also recommended as an important prevention strategy for COVID-19 (British Journal of Sports Medicine 2020; ESSA 2020, WHO 2020). ** I am very happy to announce I will be continuing the FREE group strength and conditioning sessions on Fridays at 6.30pm via ZOOM, so you can take part at home the only equipment youll need is a large towel or yoga mat. Just use the following link: https://us04web.zoom.us/j/333464689 If you cant make this session and want general tips on how to stay strong for climbing without access to the usual facilities, please email me: [email protected] If youd like something more personally tailored or feel like you need some extra motivation and support during this difficult time I am also offering the following options. 1) I will be writing personalised home workout programs based around your personal goals and experience. This will be at a one-off cost of $77. I will continue to provide this service until the world returns to some seminice of normal. 2) I will also be introducing online personal training to support anyone who isnt comfortable to start a new home program on their own or who just wants a bit of extra motivation and support right now. This offering will include a 6-week home workout program too. This service will be charged at $75 per session. Lets come back from this difficult period, stronger and fitter than ever! ** https://blogs.bmj.com//exercise-and-infectious-diseases-c/
