12.01.2022 1KG BODY FAT vs 1KG MUSCLE If you place 1kg of muscle on a scale and 1kg of fat on a scale, they will both weigh 1kg. The difference is in total VOLUME. 1kg of muscle may appear to be the size of baseball whilst 1kg of fat will be three times the size and look like a wobbly bowl of Jelly. ... Many people get confused when they train hard each week, eat well however their weight on the scale doesn't change... The reasoning behind this is because MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT! Muscle is a dense tissue that takes us less room in our bodies, equal to the weight of body fat. That's why it's possible to lose centimeters off your body and remain the same on the scales. Weighing yourself as a form of progress tracking is important HOWEVER it doesn't give you an indication of how much body fat you're losing and lean muscle you're increasing. Measuring consistently will give you a clearer indication of how you're traveling and if you're on track! Many people fall off track because they're disheartened by the scales not changing; throw in the towel and give up on their hard work.
