25.01.2022 5 Tips to Build Confidence at the Gym #3 Purpose You need to have a big enough motif behind why you’re wanting to go to the gym or to train.... Asking yourself the right questions will help define your purpose. Ask yourself questions like: Why do I need to train/go to the gym? Why is it important for me to go to the gym? How is it going to make me feel if I don’t go? Who’s it going to impact if I don’t start going to the gym? How is it going to make me feel if I do train/go to the gym? How will this impact my life? You need to have big enough reason’s WHY you’re doing something in order to create motivation so you can do the work, push through the pain, get you out of your comfort zone so you can grow and get results! 20.01.2022 Client Shoutout! Meet Sanjay Sanjay came to me 10 weeks ago with a Goal to lose body fat and put on a bit of muscle. Sanjay hadn’t done weights or been in the gym for over 10 years. He now does 3 weights days at the gym as well as 2 cardio days a week and has LOST 6.5kg ... We deff had a couple of hurdles along the way including holidays, me being in self ISO and a few other hiccups. Regardless of the obstacles he did his best at sticking to the plan, was consistent, determined, put in the work and got Results. WELL DONE Sanjay. 19.01.2022 Morning Routine Creating a morning routine that you love is key for you to be able to take control of your day and set yourself up for success right from the start. For My morning routine I get up an hour before I have to leave for work .... I get dressed and ready for work, then I meditate for 20min, write in my gratitude journal and read a few pages of a book. On my drive to work I always listen to a podcast or motivational video - something which inspires me and helps put me in a great mindset to start the day. If you’re struggling to find the time for your morning routine, I would suggest going to sleep 30in earlier and waking up 30min earlier. Start small, be consistent, gradually add to it and eventually it will become habit. You will feel calm, in control, clearer, happy and will less likely let whats going on around you/other people impact you or your day. 01.01.2022 The stories we tell ourselves are so powerful when it comes to creating our reality. Start to become aware of these stories, are these even your own stories? Or is it something that someone’s said to you or shown you along the way and it’s now been ingrained in you, could be from a parent, teacher, situation from the past etc. I’m not strong I’m not fit I’m not that type of person ... I can’t lose weight I can’t’ lift that weight My body isn’t made for that Listening to that inner dialogue and recognising those stories and differentiating between the ones which are yours and the ones which aren’t, recognising if you’re self sabotaging? This is the first step in overcoming your limiting beliefs. I had never even done gymnastics before over 2 years ago. This type of training was completely brand new to me. Yes, having a background in strength training 100% helped me progress faster with gymnastics. But still a completely new style of training to me, new movement patterns, complete opposite of the training I had been doing. What helped me most in achieving this new skill was a strong mindset (plus ofcourse my mentor @masayamaguchi_ ) and the story I told myself. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy but believed I could do it. Like anything, especially when it comes to learning something new it takes practice, time, self discipline, consistency and a strong mindset. It’s a process.
