23.01.2022 I don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this new fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled recently in South Dakota. It's called 'Dignity' & was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation. Source: @Jim Gath

12.01.2022 Art In The Dark is an experiential workshop created by artist Katrin Terton in collaboration with blind art enthusiast Geoff Munck, who developed a unique te...chnique that harnesses the power of language to enable both the blind and sighted to enjoy a comparable experience of visual culture. This 3-hour workshop is designed for anyone with an interest in process-oriented, multi-sensory, expressive experiences. It affords the opportunity for a richer understanding of how we individually perceive and conceptualise our world. Participants will experience creative processes such as blind contour drawing, clay sculpting without sight and creative responses to sounds. The workshop also incorporates a gallery walk, providing an audience experience of selected artworks seen through the eyes of those who are blind or sight-impaired. See more

04.01.2022 Good morning from the most common form of painting in the world - *all* done by women, tens of millions a day - the klam. Made from rice flour the klam is mad...e using only the artist’s fingers drizzling the material always in symmetrical geometric abstract forms on the doorways of homes and spaces in India. The klam are visual prayers, and are walked over all day every day, and gone by day’s end. The woman wakes before dawn the next day and makes this (always different) visually advanced for em again. They are what art is for. Proof that art is not just for *looking at* - but that art is intended to *do something*. Have a daily practice. With internal purpose. You will know the *uses* of art then. You will become phosphorescent as an artist. See more
02.01.2022 In the late 1970s, the artist Mirka Mora painted a beautiful tram to roll across Melbourne's streets. Go back in time to see Mirka at work. "I'd like [passengers] to think, just to think of stories or fables."
