20.01.2022 Did you know that on average, Canberra and Queanbeyan residents use an average of 315 litres of water every day? That covers drinking, bathing, gardening, cleaning and all manner of different uses. Recently our friends at Icon Water published the 2019-20 Water Quality report that contains a lot of interesting information! It makes you wonder if we can all do something to reduce our water use! Something like this could make for a great Environment Special Interest Area proje...ct for Scouting youth members to investigate! They may like to extend on their findings as a Personal Growth SIA and put the ideas into action at home or in the Scout Hall. #water #sustainability #scouts4sdgs See more
19.01.2022 Plenty of frogs around the Canberra region! Are you hopping into this opportunity to contribute citizen science to a national program? #kneedeep #Scouts4SDGs

16.01.2022 Scouting gives youth members so many opportunities to develop their personal and physical skills across a wide range of areas. The Outdoor Adventurous Skills cover many areas, such as Mountain Biking. Nothing like the fast life on two wheels!
15.01.2022 Thanks Inspiring the ACT for the generous Summer of STEM grant to help us run an amazing Archaeology workshop and Explosive STEM base at our upcoming Summer Camp! Rock on!
14.01.2022 What a weekend for Scouting in and around the ACT! More outdoor activities and training events happening than snacks in a Scout backpack... Many stories being told at home of the memories made and skills learnt. #actioncentral #neverbored #ScoutingLife
14.01.2022 Scouting into 2021 be like... Guaranteed to be different for each and every Scout as they pursue their own journey in the Scouting program! 2020 challenged most of us in one way or another. From smoke and fires, to the TP crisis, a meat shortage, this new COVID-life with a bit of Iso and migrating to a Scouts at Home program, across the board there was a level of resilience seen that demonstrated the strength of the Scouting spirit. All members of Scouting should be proud of ...their efforts to survive and thrive in such a challenging and relentless operating environment. We now put 2020 behind us and move safely into a new future as 2021 evolves. There will be continuing and new challenges as we progress, but doing so in the Scouting way, we will continue to adapt and find innovative ways to get on with our journeys and adventures... Whatever your personal goals and plans maybe, get out there and do your best. #HappyNewYear See more
13.01.2022 As the country celebrates #naidoc2020, Scouts ACT also acknowledges the traditional custodians of these beautiful land, be they past, present and future. Connection to country, culture, heritage, lores and customs are important to respect and learn from as members of an inclusive community. These ideas and more make for great Special Interest projects to share with Scouting units. That way, more Scout get to learn and understand together...
13.01.2022 Not-so breaking news! But interesting at the very least... BearGrylls has renewed his role as Chief Ambassador of World Organization of the Scout Movement - WOSM! You couldn’t ask for a better ambassador than Bear, who’s always inspiring others to do their best, to say yes to adventure & to give back what they have learnt through Scouting. If he can inspire just a handful of young people to get out there and find their own adventures, with the support of our Leaders locally, then he had done his job. It’s a team thing!!!
09.01.2022 The Scouts Australia BIG Think-IN held over the weekend just gone had a big focus on the United Nations #SustainableDevelopmentGoals. With ten years left to do our best to meet those goals, #Scouting across the world is looking to make sure these goals link in with our everyday Scouting. Keep an eye on your Scouting information channels for updates on the approved Australian framework and badge requirements, but in the meantime, you are probably already contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) already! Check out the World Scouting information site (https://sdgs.scout.org/) for more details on #Scouts4SDGs and what you can do!
07.01.2022 ANZAC Day may be more our thing, with Remembrance Day being a bigger thing for other countries who were involved in the First World War. Regardless, we pause to remember the fallen at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month (11am on 11 November). Pause to remember and reflect on the service of countless others for their country. Individual schools and workplaces may have arrangements in place! This gives Scouts another opportunity to pause and think about how their efforts can contribute towards a better world in our own way! #lestweforget

02.01.2022 Looking for program ideas to support a Unit Council or do you have a Scouting youth member seeking a new challenge for a Special Interest Area project? The NAIDOC 2021 theme is: HEAL COUNTRY! which calls for all of us to continue to seek greater protections for our lands, our waters, our sacred sites and our cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration, and destruction. All important issues to learn about and take action on as a community...
01.01.2022 Venturers just don’t sit still for a photograph, so a little artistic licence applied to capture a recent Adventurous Journey across the Three Lakes of the Australian Capital Territory. An innovative approach to stay COVID-safe and do things locally!
