23.01.2022 YES, We are still operating! #covid19 has drastically changed things around us, and yes we have altered work methods to ensure our clientele and staff are kept safe (no handshaking, regular hand wash at newly installed stations on trucks etc. full policy available on request). We continue with our daily operations, so if you are in need of #treework #pruning #removals #powerlineclearance then call our office (well actually now their homes #workingfromhome ). We are here to help with all your tree needs! #trees #acttreefelling #essentialservice #garden #work #proffessional

23.01.2022 It’s springtime and in canberra that means elm leaf beetle treatment, these like guys are decimating our elms. We use trunk injections for effective treatment #pest #trees #arborist #arblife #control #arbaustralia #arboriculture #proffesional #canberra

22.01.2022 Often people see holes in trees as damage or defects but almost all of the time they are habitat for all kinds of life! #arborist #nature #habitat #cockatoo

21.01.2022 This week we spent some time consulting for #nswnpws (nsw National parks) to assess and report on some over excessive risk assessment. After the #nswfires. A local contractor had essentially clear felled a section of road through #kosciuszkonationalpark under the guise of #riskassessment . We used #qtra as #professional #consulting #arborist to report on more accurate work #specifications to ensure more trees can be #retained

21.01.2022 Any chance we get to give back to the community particularly for environmental benefit is a bonus, being able to find constructive uses for our byproducts is a big part of that.

20.01.2022 Beautiful day up a big Eucalyptus globulus (Blue Gum). This one had a large #branch #fail onto #powerlines. With a lot of bird damage and decay in the union the decision was made to remove it. You know it’s big when up have to haul the #stihl #ms880 #chainsaw up the tree. #arblife #treesurgeon #arborist #protosintegral #treework #ropewrench #yale #stirling #treecare #australia #safety #team #crew #climbers

15.01.2022 All hands on deck! Great planning, great mates, great ideas and some hard yakka transforms this barren backyard into the beginnings of a food forest in just one weekend! Do you need a permablitz at your place?

14.01.2022 Not all our insects are scary in Australia, take this cute woolly scale for example #caninsectsbecute #growingupaustralian #arboristnetwork

14.01.2022 We have a pretty big crew of 7-8 staff who climb, rigging, drag branches, cut, clean up and converse with clients. They are hard working, #professionals but they most significant point is we work as a #team . Today there’s less of us, working as a smaller #crew Because for us it’s #peoplefirst Some of the crew have family matters to attend to, some have injuries. For us #business is built on our team. If the guys are sick or injured, the rest step up to fill the gap so those ...can rest and be back to work ASAP. Life is better with happy, healthy people working together. #balance #lifestyle#worklife #arblife #treesurgeon #arborist #australia #srt #wood #together #protosintegral #yalecordage #dmmwales See more

10.01.2022 Long dead trees are often tricky sometimes really hard wood, sometimes super soft, you never know what you’re going to get. Here @jiggerz94 makes it look easy. #arblife #treesurgeon #arborist #protosintegral #treework #australia #arboriculture #climb #climbeverything

10.01.2022 Every now and again there’s a tree that just gives you the heebie geebies as a climber. Yesterday this was one of those. A Eucalyptus melliodora (Yellow Box) removal for #actparks , the tree had multiple large parts fail was directly over LV lines and within falling distance of HV lines. It had a crazy kink (dogleg) in the main trunk positioning most of the crown way over the LV. And the crown had significant horizontal spread making decent tie in point hard to establish. Eve...n with the the power off my heart rate was high for the whole removal right down to the last cut. Pretty sure all #climbingarborist get scared sometimes if not I’d bet they are lying. Fear keeps us real, rational and safe, best to listen to it but not be controlled by it I’ve found. #arblife #treesurgeon #arborist #protosintegral #dmm #singingtree #ropewrench #evoenergy #canberra #canberralife #trees #fear #overcome #proffesional #treework #sendit #letitswing See more

10.01.2022 We have had an unseasonably amount of damaging winds recently in Canberra, last week@I had an emergency call out to inspect this Ulmus procera (English Elm) that has had a large crack through the base and steel cables in it for years. Our client could see movement (severe) in the stems and there was loud cracking and popping noises from the opening crack. One leader over the house and the other over spans of powerlines it didn’t look good, each stem was approximately 1m in di...ameter and tonnes of pendulous weight was bright held just by the cables. I got TPU (Tree Protection Unit) our for a second opinion and they confirmed our fears, for risk mitigation it was only reasonable to removal the tree. #130t #crane, #trafficcontrol, poweroutage, #avant, 2 chipper trucks and 7 hours of climbing later we got to see the massive hole in the base that at felt justifying. #arborist #arblife #arbaus #climb #trees #arboriculture #arboricultureaustralia #trees #canberra #canberratrees #canberralife #canberralocals #canberralocalbusiness See more

09.01.2022 Creating #habitat #hollows to install in trees adjacent to a recently cleared electrical easement. 08.01.2022 Tight #dropzone today removing these 4 Cupressocyparis leylandii ‘Leighton Green’ that had our grown their space, lifted the deck and started to damage the pool. 08.01.2022 This Eucalyptus mannifera (Brittle Gum) was jammed between a fence, driveway, two houses , over roofs with skylights, aerials, and satellite dishes. A truely tight drop zone to big a massive amount of tree into. 08.01.2022 #cornetcut pruning to majorly reduce a Eucalyptus blakelyi (Red Gum) over a house that had two large failures over the last two years. Collaboration with the local TPU (Tree Protection Unit) enables us to undertake significant pruning with the aim of retaining trees in a reasonable form for residents whilst continuing to provide habitat. #pruning #climbingarborist #srt #reduction #procuts #consultingarborist #treeprotection #arborist #arblife #acttreefelling

07.01.2022 This tree has become a bit too friendly with our powerlines! It's important to make sure trees in your yard are at least 1.5 metres away from powerlines, otherwise they can conduct electricity and cause a safety hazard like this one here. https://www.evoenergy.com.au/residents/trees-and-powerlines

07.01.2022 Mid swing, a big removal of a large Eucalyptus badgensis that was riddled with Phellinus Sp. (rot) for the National Botanic Gardens. It’s always an honour to work in the collection at the gardens, and always a challenge with so many delicate trees and plants surrounding. 06.01.2022 We are looking for a climber! Positive, diligent and with an eye out for your team! If it’s you or you know some one, send us a message. We feel pretty blessed to be busy at work whilst many industries are not, if you’re looking for good honest , satisfying work, call us!

05.01.2022 Bit of a before and after shot (red line in the desired reduction size and symmetry after consultation with our client), Definitely not the easiest type of pruning to pull off well but we pride ourselves on quality work allowing clients to retain trees and make then work in the space they are in. 04.01.2022 I love this feeling, and I think it’s the same for a lot of climbing arborists. When the space is small enough to make you think but the tree big enough to swing decent size pieces! 01.01.2022 You know you’re doing something right when your #consultation calendar involves a meeting scheduled here (check the geotag) #primeministerslodge to advise on #arboriculturalreporting with accuracy. On a recent visit to quote on specified work from an #arboristsreport (not ours) I was supplied with #riskassessment data from that report. There were noticeable deviations from industry best practise, and there was no dicernable benchmarching (of risk) nor was an international acc...epted risk assessment platform such as #QTRA or #TRAQ used. This resulted in a significant over estimation of risk and therefore an specification of works resulting in higher costs for the client but more importantly in this case more (unnecessary) pruning on trees of significance in a #heritage precinct. We as #registeredconsultingarborist with #Arboricultureaustralia are duty bound by the code of #ethics to draw our clients attention to discrepancies that may result is poor or exaggerate arboricultural work. On doing this we were then invited to advise on a potentially more progressive view of arboricultural reporting and work specification which will hopefully in less trees pruned, better management plans and lower costs for clients! We have been working on the trees at the lodge for over 20 years now, the second picture onwards shows the crew onsite in Julia Gillard’s Term undertaking a large removal

01.01.2022 In contrast to our last post we are currently contracted on large civil site, removing a lot of trees to make a safe clearance zone for the construction of a new substation and towers to provide more power to the ACT. The cool part is that whilst pushing us to ensure we are at the top of the game which compliance, safety and #tree removal processes, we are working closely with the #environmental consultants to try to minimise impacts to local #fauna by inspect trees for hollows, relocating #wildlife under the guidance of handlers and installation of multiple #nesting boxes. #arblife #arborist #sustainability #flora #fauna #canberra #canberralife #arboriculture #arboricultureaustralia #avant
