21.01.2022 ACNE - A CHINESE MEDICINE APPROACH Acne manifests differently in each person. Proper diagnosis of each case determines your unique pattern and is essential in achieving a successful outcome. Here are a few examples of how acne patterns present on the skin from a Chinese medicine perspective. ... STAGNATION - Spots may flare at certain times of the month, particularly at ovulation and in the week prior to menstruation in women. Women with Polycystic ovarian syndrome often present this way. STOMACH HEAT - Pimples appear on the cheeks, chest and upper back. Other associated symptoms may include digestive issues such as reflux or indigestion, mouth ulcers, bad breath and sluggish bowels.
