24.01.2022 Dear Nepali community of Hobart Tasmania, I hope you don’t mind me introducing myself to you. In 2013/2014 I had an experience in a small village of Nepal called Bhimphedi, a few hours south of Kathmandu. ... It’s an experience that has transformed me as an Acupuncturist, and as a person who shared a journey with the amazing people of Nepal and the Volunteer organisation Acupuncture Relief Project I was accepted into an immersion experience as an Acupuncture and Primary Care physician in that tiny little village. More of that and other volunteer journeys (they do some amazing work) here: https://acupuncturereliefproject.org/news-blog/201-dr-chad Recently after meeting the Nepali director for (who did a fantastic job I should add) First Aid Tasmania I realised how great the Nepali community is here in Hobart, and also how much my experience there has impacted me and how I relate to people. Anna and myself still visit Danphe Nepalese Nepali restaurant, for the great food obviously, but also subconsciously there’s that Nostalgic desire which takes us there to touch base with our past (Anna had the very same journey) and all the positive feelings and experiences we shared with you all. I wanted to know if it would be outrageous of me to ask a massive favour. Would you the community be willing to share or like my page? Because I would like to connect with as many of you as possible. Now, I’m not expecting to reach every single one of you, but maybe with your help we can get close. What’s that saying? If you want to go fast, go alone.if you want to go far, go together. I feel since my experience in Nepal ultimately kickstarted my career as an Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine practitioner, that I would be honored to connect with as many of the Nepali community as possible. For that, I promise to try and bring you as much great informative health related content through this page as possible, of which I hope you find valuable. Thank you Nepal, Dhani Bahd, Namaste. 23.01.2022 Pain is such an interest topic (at least to me). Even though Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine has different ways of assessing pain, we can still work together with scientific understandings and cultural philosophies: #acupuncturehobart #acupuncture #acupunctureworks... https://acupuncturehobart.com/pain-paradigms/

21.01.2022 For those that don't know me: I've been living in Hobart with my beautiful partner Anna Helms @goldenlotusacupuncture for just over 3 x years now. We both road tripped down the Stuart Highway from Darwin after deciding it was far too hot up north. "What could be more logical than moving to Hobart! ?" we thought.... We are both registered as Acupuncturist | Chinese Medicine | Allied Health Practitioners. I graduated on the Gold Coast in 2013 after completing a 4 x year BHSc - Acupuncture... (Some don't know how long an Acupuncture degree is!). Then I volunteered in Nepal as a Primary Care Physician / Acupuncturist.... I gathered a lot of great experience there because of the sheer number of patients requiring treatment (for a wide range of conditions). There's a blog from that trip you can read here: https://acupuncturereliefproject.org/news-blog/201-dr-chad Following that trip we opened a successful commercial practice in Darwin, NT. As far as Acupuncture is concerned I have a special interest in all #pain related disorders, #headaches and #back pain .... You'll find my registrations through googling the AHPRA and AACMA sites. Thanks for reading. There's a bunch of articles and content on my website and you're welcome to get in touch to discuss anything. #acupuncturehobart

20.01.2022 What does Acupuncture feel like? SENSATIONAL! What does that mean?... There are different sensations occurring during an Acupuncture session. In a way, Acupuncture should be considered A treatment session of sensations which cant really be described as painful. These are feelings on the body like: Heaviness, achiness, tingling etc, as we shift people out of that sympathetic fight or flight mode into the rest and digest parasympathetic system. Gotama Buddha might have understood the above if we relate it to Vipassana meditation, the observation of sensations on the body, with equanimity, for the purification of the mind. During an Acupuncture session, it only takes a few seconds to pop a needle in, which "pins"you into the present moment (excuse the pun) and causes a cascade of physiological responses in the body. So, just relax, observe and enjoy the sensations and positive benefits that comes with Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. 20.01.2022 In an extraordinary development in real life acupuncture research, a US study of 89,000 acupuncture patients has found that between 85% and 93% reported that th...eir acupuncturist had successfully treated their primary condition (most commonly musculoskeletal pain). Over 80 to 87% rated their acupuncturists at a nine or 10 on a 10-point scale. This is above the conventional care provider rate of 76 to 80%. And as far as side-effects are concerned there were a grand total of 13 non-serious events! See more
